Not sure what "scratch pad" means. I just finish my props with 400 wet/dry.

Ive done a ton of prop work to and I would also like to know what a prop "scratch pad" is, 320g on up as far as sand paper goes.

Hi
He's prob talking about a scotch brite pad http://sigmasupply.shoppkg.com/shop/C3734.aspx you can get the green ones at just about any supermarket........ in the dish washing section
The red ones are much much better.....should be able to get them from a metal polish supplier or auto body shops

Au wozza,that's exactly what i think also.I been asking people aside of here and they look at me like i'm crazy lol,i think they think i'm messing with them.Yeah that's the only thing i found to.Thanks all of ya's are a big help.

Ok....you are talking about balancing your prop...correct?......most people use sandpaper....lets get it all cleared up so theyain't looking at you crazy......if so....lets move forward.....

You can find them at the Home depot, there is 3 different coarsness. Grey, green and brown

The confusion started with you're misunderstanding a suggestion on the other thread. The person who mentioned using a scotch brite pad was suggesting you use this to roughen the bottom surfaces of your hull that come in contact w/the water to lessen drag.

Yeah. I get that look a lot myself but there could be a reason behind it! [sm=lol.gif]
I haven't tried Scotch-Brites on props yet but have used them for paint prep on hulls, more so on epoxy-glas. What's cooler are the pads with the sponge backing if you want to use them for wet sanding.

Let us know how it goes....lots of info on here to help you....Puttin mine in da water tommorow....mild weather down here in TX. Got a Go engine Stage 1from Amax that I blew up from inexperience....Toyatatruckin rebuilt it.....first run tommorow on the repaired engine. Also using Toyatatruckin's flexshaft and rudder......

They sell them scratch pads for CATS with catnip no trimming there nails .As far as props i'm not sure.
