ID help please 40" cigarette boat old school?
Is this boat worth the time and expense to restore? the K&B engine blown, the Futaba FP-2pka is missing the remote, but this boat was operational at 1 time and it's very cool, what type engine can I go back with that has a pull start? and a new remote system would be good, maybe 2.4 ghz ? I would like to get the boat mechanically sound before I start on the body. So how about a little help here people.

I'm pretty sure what you have there is a Dumas boat. I had one I sold a while back with all the instructions and paperwork from dumas. It was the same length and the deck looked identical. Dumas made good boats. Maybe a little heavier than most made now but then again they were more durable.

There isn't too many 40<45 size engines with pull-start beside this:

Looks indeed like some Dumas hull from the 80's, it might be hard to find a motor mount for it!
Wouldn't bother with the old AM 75 Mhz system, the servos might still be ok.

I wouldn't trust the servos if they are that old. Even when not used, the wires can and do go bad. If you're going to upgrade the radio system, include the servos. Otherwise, it would be like rebuilding the brakes on your car without doing the master cylinder. Would you trust your brakes at that point?
