There is no reason why it won't work. However, if you want to program the ESC to settings that might be better for the application, then yes. I make sure my ESC's have data logging. Alterations and data are then transfered from/to my PC.

If I get the seaking 120a v3,should it be able to run 6s with occasional short full throttle, but mostly I would be running in the half to 3/4 style riding,I already ordered a 6s battery last week and still not sure if I should just keep it stock esc and 4s,or keep the 6s battery and order the seaking 120?..would like to have the ability to go faster on short occasions

The specs for this ESC states it can handle up to 6S.

Ok,I just ordered it,the 120 and the program card,I could get the 120 now, didn't want to wait to be able to get the 180,but will check this out..as far as the upgraded flex shaft, does it with the stuffing tube that comes with it,fit in the stock brass tube: )

just be cautious using a smaller size esc with a higher kv motor and prop combo as you can burn it out. i feel its allways safer to go higher in the esc amps than just enough.
