Miss Vegas upgrades
Hello all,
I have a stock miss Vegas and want some more speed and power? I need a good budget engine and info on the flex cable upgrade to cope.
Looking at a .18
Cheers

Before I give any recommendations, I have a few questions for you:
1) Is this your first boat?
2) Do you have any previous experience with twin stroke nitro motors?
3) Is this just a "toy" boat or do you plan on racing with it in the future?

Not by any means my first boat, not racing it but using it with a club and would like to have about 50mph, that would be great. Just would like a nice affordable .18 and info on a flex drive upgrade as I have several Octura props but the inside diameter is too big for the Miss Vegas shaft.

50 might be a bit much for a Vegas as it was only designed for mid to upper 30s. As far as shaft upgrades, the general consensus has the flex cable upsized to a .187. That will let you use bigger props but, at the same time, it also means replacing the strut with one that a .187 will fit.
As far as engines go, the Nova Rossi 15 and K&B 18 are the only two I've found and, even then, I wouldn't trust MECOA, the manufacturer of K&B, to have any ready to ship, even though their website claims they do

Another alternative would be the Super Tigre .18 engine. Wont get 50 mph out of the boat anyways so throw that engine in and have fun with mid to high 30's or low 40's. They are plentiful and the price is right as well.

Those boats were designed so that if you got bored with it, you can make it Sport 20 legal. It takes a bunch of work of course but it will take the power.
Check www.novarossi.us to see if Glenn Quarles has something that you might like. Even his .12's put out a lot more power and RPM than many others.
Here's a bolt-in: https://www.novarossi.us/collections...x15pr-15-motor

To me its weird in the sense that they are equipping that type of exhaust system with the purchase of the engine. Usually the engine isnt equipped with exhaust when purchased. I would like to see some specs on it though.
