RE: Offical Nitro Hammer Thread
the blade is 2". but it is not the stock nitro hammer rudder. it is a rudder i got off a diffrent boat.
if you put a shorter rudder on it, there is more of a chance it will spin out.

Isn't that the same as trim tabs?
If you raise them the water drag will force the bow up, lower them they'll make the bow go down, too much and you'll submarine.

no trim tabs go on the back of the boat and are much shorter.ride pads on on the bottom of the boat and riase the intire boats up.i know its kinda confusing.

RE: Offical Nitro Hammer Thread
fancy seeing you on this thread 501, just bought a hammer myself, for an rtr it came in kit form, the radio box was loose & had come unglued on the way over, the radio trimming was shocking & the fuel tank needed to be shifted to the side to let the throttle linkage work properly, i spent 2 hours on it last night screwing the box in, setting up all the radio gear properly & shifting the fuel tank. i have it pretty well sussed now, i'll drill a hole in the top tonight & run it in sometime within the next couple of weeks. 2 of my friends have one, so we'll have 3 bashing about together. one question i have is has anyone put the macs tuned pipe on it? i ordered one & realised it doesn't have a compression nozzle on it to pressure the fuel tank up, i was going to put a nozzle into the silicon connector to do this, but wanted to check to see if anyone had done it some other way.
cheers
Dicko.

hey dicko!
i dont know how to put a nozzle on it but your way sounds good. i havent seen a NH run with a macs pipe but i heard it increases the power alot. let us know how it runs.

We have a grey one, a red one & I have the white one. I think I'll drill & tap a hole in the tuned pipe at the widest part & put the nozzle in there. I'll probably run it in with the stock pipe on, depending on how long it takes for the macs pipe to arrive from tower. I ordered it sunday, so I should probably get it next tuesday-wednesday, if I don't run it in this weekend, it'll get run in with the macs pipe.

RE: Offical Nitro Hammer Thread
if you carefully pull it off and patiently pull the pullstart apart without uncoiling the spring, you can re-wrap the pullstart using heavy duty kite string, or thin rope that you can get from a marine shop. if the coil unwinds it will take a lot of patience and carefull plier work to put it back together. I have rebuilt several pullstarts, after a couple of goes you get the nack & it doesn't take too long. try to pull the pully out just enough to wrap the new string on without uncoiling the spring, a vice and clamping pliers are handy.

any standard servo will fit, the radio is a renamed futaba radio, so you can get a futaba servo if you want, i personally like Hitec servos vor performance and value for money.
