RE: Offical Nitro Hammer Thread
in my buggies i use the HS 625 MG, but that is overkill for a boat. any of the high speed high torque ones will be more than sufficient. the HS-425BB looks good, high speed and can carry 46 oz at 4.8V or 57oz at 6V. that would be the one i would buy.

one of my servos was messing up so i opened it up and took the gears out, the electronics and got any water and crap out. put it back together and it worked fine.

When you electronics are twitching or not responding right, take them apart and take out the green microchip, there will be other stuff connected. any wayz to dry pull out the trusty hair dryer. dry on high for like 5 mins. then hang servo for like 24 hours to be sure any water is out!!!! replace and have fun!!!!
Sometimes when the servos don't respond, it's your reciever!!!

I am planning on doing some more sanding. It looks ok but it could be better. I'll post some pics later tonight. Well the parts won't be here till next week. I just got an e-mail saying it was shipped. That sucks!!!

RE: Offical Nitro Hammer Thread
What are the consensus needle settings for the stock hobbico engine? Factory is 2 1/2 for the HSN, I can't get it to run well unless the HSN is 1 1/4 or less for both needles? But it seems like its running hot at those settings, don't want to burn up my engine. Using O'Donnell 20%. Any help would be great.
Thanks

RE: Offical Nitro Hammer Thread
started running the boat in yesterday, got the tuned pipe on it before i started, but the run in got canned close to the end due to a throtle servo malfunction[&o][:@]. water got in it & it kept bugging out. never got to test the tuned pipe against the stock pipe at full throttle. but i replaced the servo & greased all the areas where water can get in on both the servos, so it should be fine for next time. next weekend will be all go weather permitting. so close to having it completely run in, sooooo frustrating.

i sharpened the turn fins before i ran it in too. i did a check before i started it & the manifold screws were loose. my friend checked his after he ran it in & the manifold and heatsink screws were loose, one was almost all the way out. i'll be doing another check on mine tonight.
i intend on lifting the rudder mount up 5-6mm to stop it dragging in the water, it's unnecessary drag. my plan is to flip the pushrod clamp upside down on the rudder's turn horn, and shift the whole assembly up & redrill 2 new holes in the hull to mount it. by turniong the clamp upside down i hope to avoid redrilling the pushrod hole.
i only have 2 number stickers on my boat, and a nice sticker of a lady with a finish flag for the front, i'll try to post a pic.
