Yep sounds like they got wet and not dried out completly or sat with moisture in them. Like stunter2b said plug the throtell servo into the steering servo posistion on the reciever(rx) if moving the steering wheel work the servo then it's your rx if it does the same thing then it's the servo. Get some "Corrosion X", open them up an spray a heavy coat of it inside, let it dry 30min, put it back together, and test it. Corrosion X is also a good thing for Moisture Resistance, I treat All my TX's and RX's with it or CRC Heavy Duty Corrosion Inhibitor.
Heres is a 3 part vid done by sombody else, on water proofing,, I think Y'all will like them.

RE: THE UNOFFICIAL SHOCKWAVE 36 THREAD
yeah.... the throttle servo wont work on any channel... its a brand new rx.....
steering is crisp tho.... :P
i upgraded the steering servo to a metal high torque one because i found that at top speed, the rudder actually can move quite a bit by itself and that causes the boat to wobble quite uncontrolably....
that stronger servo totally killed the "wiggle" and now its solid...
but yea... the throttle one is just twitching...? its odd...
anyways thanks guys.

RE: THE UNOFFICIAL SHOCKWAVE 36 THREAD
The M445 is a Modified version of the X445 it's had the unnecessary areas removed. SS props are a bit heavy for our applications and very hard to work with so finishing cost is high. The Copper\ Beryllium are more than strong enough to handle the loads we put on them and lighter so they put less drag on the engine to turn it up. if your hitting something hard enough to bend or break the C\B prop your bending other parts to and should probably find a better place to run.
I haven't messed with any voodoo prop but I've heard they take A Lot of work to finish.

hey so should i get the x445 or the m445?
also, how to i get offshoreelectrics to balance and sharpen my prop for me? theres not a link like fun rc boats....?
so basically here is my option
1. buy the x445 from FUNRCBOATS and get them to b&s my prop.
2. buy the m445 from offshoreelectrics and sharpen myself or something.... ( if i can find out how they can do it for me ill do that )

I can't find the top speed on a stock one....but while looking came accross this..
Now I know this isn't nitro, but sure looks fun and fast.

What trips me out on these VERY FAST electrics is most of them I see on Youtube are just doing short sprints. It would be so cool to see a sustained run of these mega speed beasts.....as if there were in a race........at least acouple of laps doing right handed turns.

totally dude.. or beside a boat.... you always see big gas'ers beside the boats... but it would be awesome to see a shockwave 36 full out beside one no? it would be awesome... especially in bigger waves... we all know the shockwave is AMAZING when you go straight at 3/4 speed in waves.... its just when you corner does it get hairy.... :P

RE: THE UNOFFICIAL SHOCKWAVE 36 THREAD
The Really Fast FE Boats can only do short spurts at Full Throtel or they over heat. The ones you see doing the amazing speeds are designed just for that, the heat racers are Fast but toned down just enough to stay "On It" without overheating in 6 laps, and even then there only full throtel in the straights.

RE: THE UNOFFICIAL SHOCKWAVE 36 THREAD
Fast boats wheather the be FE or nitro....if they have the right hardware....trimtabs and turn fins......will usually turn better in the OPPOSITE direction that the rudder turns...ie; my SV 27 turns better and fasterto the rightsince the prop turns to the left. Hydros can be an exception, because of the hull design, but deep v's and cats are usually better at both left and right turns.

They all turn better to the right due to Prop Thrust, the turn fin on the hydro's limit's there left turning ability while enhancing it to the right.

RE: THE UNOFFICIAL SHOCKWAVE 36 THREAD
still.... the shockwave does handle really well in a straight line at high speed.... just turing is scary....
are we all agreed?
like it doesn't have a huge tendance to flip like the cats do... it just rolls.... but straight line in waves is awesome on the shockwave.
no?

RE: THE UNOFFICIAL SHOCKWAVE 36 THREAD
hey guys.. just a question.
i know ive been asking alot these days.... ive just kinda got back into my shockwave and im trying to redo it a bit.... fix some of my pet-peeves....
so my biggest pet peeve ( and yes ive read this whole forum at least 3 times over )
and ive seen the snap containers and stufff..... but heres a question....
the thundercat 31 it has a sealed radio box with screws and a gasket why doesn't the shockwave have one? it needs it more.... having to tape it is soooo frustrating!
so do you guys think that if i bought the thunder tigers radio box that i could just stick it inside where the shockwaves radio box goes?
???
it would be a fast solution....
anyways.... ideas would be nice.
Thanks a million guys.

Well the tape down lid is actually the better system, if the Lid and Lip are Clean it seals much better than the screw down lid that will eventually warp and Hump Up between the retaining screws.
The 447 is a little on the big side for the stock engine especially if your running less than 40% nitro.

screw down lids are a pain in the (blank) take to long to open to close and dont work . unless the stock one is broke leave it for the summer and replace in the winter so you can have a little boat sex when its to cold to run

I don't agree on the handling of the SW. At full speed it has the death wobble, but it carves really well. I still have to find some nice 6-32 stainless screws and move the trim tabs closer to the output of the flex shaft. If you are having trouble flipping your SW, check your balance, and also the angle of attack of your rudder. After balancing my boat with some weight in the nose, it handles better at high speed, but still not optimal.
Curtis
And stick with the M445, you will get much better response and higher speed out of your engine.
