Default Thanks for help - Dumas deepV Pic

Thanks to help on this forum I finished my brothers dumas deepv that I started 14 years ago. Needless to say, his boys love it.
The OS 40 makes it fly.

Mr. Mahoney, you appear to have done a very nice job on the boat. It's refreshing to see that there are still BUILDERS out there. You have a good base there for an enjoyable hobby for both your brother and his boys.

Really nice! The paint is excellent and the hull looks nicely built. Hope you all have a great time with it!
Regards,
Will

I hate to tell you this but the trim tabs are in the wrong place. They should be right where the date and "Uncle Shawn" is at. Otherwise a great looking boat.

Oh well, the "boys" won't know better Thanks for the tip, I am amazed we didn't put them on upside-down! What difference will it make in performance? You basically mean they are too far out?

Yes, they are way too far out. They need to go right on top of the writing on the transom and up about 1/16" up from the bottom of the hull.
Here is a pic that I posted over in the Gas boat forum, it will give you an idea of what I'm talking about.

Thanks. Maybe I will get it right on the next one We need to call it a day and quit "surfing". Thanks for staying up late to give me some pointers. I have to admit, I think I want a nitro boat for myself now.

No problem. Yeah, I have to get off myself, it's 1:16 AM here. I work the 3-11 shift so I'm on in the morning and after work.
When you get the urge to build another boat (and you will ), we're here to help.
