I recommend doing the surface drive conversion, the fiberglassing is really not hard to do at all! Just get a small kit (i got the bondo brand fiberglass repair kit) and follow the directions for mixing and what not. After you have cut out the old skeg, Just tape it off with wide tape, and follow the direction of the cut (nose-to-tail) This way, when you put the fiberglass in, all the angles for the hull will automatically be correct! Then sand smooth after it is dry, fill any low spots and thats about it! It really is a simple conversion to do!

One more thing, ron do you suggest any and series graupner prop becuase i was gonna put in a new shaft, too. Any help on this would help alot;the stock prop measures 32 mm in diameter.

With the .18 in it, you should be able to turn a larger prop. The 1/8" shaft will restrict you though to up to 35mm. Octura does have the M-535/3 that should work well on it. one of the guys here in town put an X-437 on his but he probably had to make some spacers between the prop hub and shaft from some brass tubing. I've done this before on other boats.

is 1/8 in 4mm? i was gonna put on the new shaft then if i wanted to run larger 3/16in props jus make a sleeve out of stock copper tubing. Also the reason i was looking at a gruapner was that i didnt want to have to sharpen or balance the prop, just lazy and not enough brains i guess.

No, not for that drive setup. Offshorelectrics has some 4 mm threaded props that could probably be drilled out for a bigger shaft but thats the only smaller ones I know of. You might be able to get away with drilling a little and then threading it to fit but thats all I know of for the smaller graphner props.

Well, then try them. I don't have a clue what size you will need but you could try a 32mm with a 1.6 pitch. That would have more pitch then the stock one which means more speed. Or maybe try a 36,37mm with a 1.4 pitch. I really have no clue so those are just guesses[]

Its also been really windy here. I fliped my Miss Bud the first day out. Man that water is cold this time of year.
