I'm still waiting on those Traxxas parts to come in. The weather in Ontario Canada has been getting alot cooler as of late, and I'll have to think about going back to the fishing rod and ball retrieval method instead of going for that refreshing summer swim. The float plane has been keeping me busy in the mean time. I haven't decided on my paint job colours yet.

Hey Blue,

How is your bluemonster vee coming along?

Yeah, I am sure now you will be forever addicted to r/c aircraft, I just got my flatout RCU biplane up tonight, with my wonderful top secret conter rotating setup, it flys nicely and has no trogue affect at all which is sweet, running a rimfire motor and two 9x6 zinger props...hope to hear more good things about the boats as well

Mine was doing good untill it stripped out the ujoint that connects the clutch to the prop shaft. Ive got the dirt dike fever right now though so I havent touched my boat in a couple of weeks. I thinking i can make one out of some straight steel rod and a roll pen.

Hi y'all, finally got all my parts in from offshore electrics and took the vee out for a initial baseline shakedown, aside from a 3-blade prop, larger cooling lines and trim/spin fins all else is stock, ran great ! , my son loved it, no prop cavitation after a hi-speed spin-out,pull-out,just **** n git,the only noticible problem encountered was after leaning the engine (optimally) the increased speed caused a prop steer at WOT? it also caused an effect much the same as a belly dancer [:-] side to side wiggle [X(], the stock centerfin was removed to allow the tabs to be attached, I guess by doing this caused that effect,I'm making an extended mount to reinstall this fin to see if that cure's that, but i'm so satisfied with the performance of this boat I hate to tear it apart under the pretense of improving it,Plus i'd hate to explain to my son the concept of "why are you fixin it,if it ain't broke ?" In other words Gentleman,I lost the boat to him, until it's broke, sooooooo, i'm in the market for a new hull to put these great mods into........os.21/w tuned pipe, speedmaster surface drive\rudder and all but ahull to put it in[],any recommendations for an optimal length ?

My nitro vee will not run full speed
by hiting full throttle. The engine
revs up and it runs real slow
in the water by turning right just a
little then it takes off full speed.
Could this be a clutch problem?
I need a new needle valve assembly
also my son ran over my nitro vee
with the big boat. Where is a good
part supply source?

towerhobbies and horizonhobby can get you the parts you'll need, also thats called cavitation, you must be gradual on the throttle till its on plane and the prop "bites" into the water, what is happening is the prop spins quickly pulling air in with it, and with an air pocket around the prop you wont get anywhere quick...so I will soon be boatless completely, till after school, I will however have the suzuki 750 katana i picked up to beat around down here and the revo I am trading my rc18 for, it will be getting a modded novarossi 528 which is a .28 sized engine, should fly...

Hey V3-D,that wiggle i mentioned earlier, could that be attributed to too much nose down attitude, I really didn't have too much time to "dial" the vee in,should I trim it first by adjusting the outdrive then the trim tabs for the chop? the way it ran it looked as if it was on air, really smooth,no bounce........Is this that fine line in performance vs stability?

yeah basically the higher the nose the faster and lest stable it will be, too high and it will hop in corners and sometimes straights, if its not hoping trim the nose up some more, a little at a time, if it slows down or handles bad go back the other way, its trial and error and knowing your boat, start with the tabs even with the hull, basically and extension, they are there for that purpose, to get on plain easier/quicker and help handling, you shouldnt need that original fin if you have spin fins on it. if its running fast and the little wiggle is a small one I wouldnt worry to much about it,

My starter has quit working. The gear (4576)
is slipping on the starter motor. I read in a
previous post to clean the shaft and the in
side of the gear with a de-greaser. I tried
that and it still slips on the shaft. I was
wondering has the in side on the gear
might be worn or the shaft to the starter
motor. If so I was wondering could I put
some ca on it or maybe soldering it on.

the part that slips is the one way bearing, every e-zstart gen. 1(the new one on the trx motors doesnt do it) has slipped there, you must clean out the one-way bearing with some brake cleaner or degreaser, CRC makes brake cleen(SP?) thats what I usually used, though it you dont like gas and stuff on your hands Id suggest wearing gloves or something.

I took everything apart and the
one way bearing and all the gears
are good. The problem is gear (4578)
slipping on the electric motor. According
to the manual this gear is pressed on
the shaft of the electric motor. Mine is loose.

Thanks for the advice, and the link. I
did some searching on the subject of
pinion gears slipping on the shaft. Some
guys with electric planes are having the
same problem. Some said to use sand
paper and rough up the shaft then use
5 min. epoxy, JB weld or Lock Tight.
Going to give this a try in the morning
if this fails I'm going to do as you said
just get a new motor.

yeah pulling and installing them is a pain, new they must be pressed on and you neat to heat it or you'll mess the motor armature up. been there done that, I have glued them on with mild success but eventually it will fail again, Id do that then order the motor for w/e it decides to quit again, spares are never bad and for 15 bucks its a cheap one to have

I thought about that, so I went
ahead and ordered the replacement
motor. I won't have many more days
to run my boats before cold weather.
Maybe I can patch it up till the replace
ment gets here.

know is where to get some decals.
Would like something besides blue
but quess thats just wishful thinking.

Just simple pray paint works well if you get the better quaility ones, and if you clear it afterwards, mine wasnt cleared and was still pretty tuff stuff, and I just masked it with the scotch blue painters tape, that stuff is great when painting r/c stuff, if you want some cool decals or stickers look on tower and/or ebay,

I ran top fuel 33% and it loved it, but the k&b outboards love fuel upto about 65% so Id say itd be ok upto 45%, that is with an 18% oil content

Hey guyz, just finished my first paint n stripe job, after stripping the decals washed, rinsed, wiped dry,First, adhesion promoter,I used dupli-color (auto spray bomb)this stuff is great ,didn't have to scuff the hull, seconds later,LOL, dupli-color metalcast,(metallic ground coat)used when shooting candy's, pearls, flouresents.I then used an assortment of pactra mini-bombs racing finish in the above mentioned mediums (mostly blues) then clear coated ,the pictures don't do this job justice, so what can I say..........must remember to do striping SOBER
