What was done to my tank was cut the nipple off at the tank and use a metal thredded nipple to replace the plastic molded one
ORIGINAL: TwistedLiquid

Well, the bottom line going to the carb where it is connected to the tank leaks on mine. Use wire and twist it around it tight, thats what I did to prevent it from leaking.
Here might be a better cure for your leak. The wire may cut into your line due to vibration. If you will cut off a piece of fuel 1/8 in length, then place the piece of tubing over the end of a closed pair of needle nose pliers. Open the needle nose to stretch out the tubing, then take your fuel line and place it thru the center of your stretched out tubing and release the needle nose. You should have your 1/8 over the very end of your fuel..then connect it to the tank...no leak you should find.

has anyone put the thunder tiger 7.5 engine in a tc 31? I like the bigger motor and the clutch and the belt start. how critical is the bottom after my fuel mishap I had a guy at work fix it and paint it. but could never get him to clear and buff it the top is ok but the bottom is a little orange peel looking will it run ok or have it cleared and buffed out?

i think nobody done it yet but that's a good idea swapping motor, i'l bet it will work with little modification, coz i put os .46 in mine,,,imo, just take a measurement of the engine with the clutch first, might be tight in tc31.

keep us updated if u go to this direction...

Hey Guys I'm getting ready for another season of great boating with My Thundercat, I was wondering if you guys knew of some simple mods that could boost performance or just overall a better boat.

Thanks, Owen

Thanks for the quick reply, I know well of this forum I have been reading it since 2008, I have read it all. When you say open up the back of the hatch, should I just drill some small to medium sized holes in the back of the hatch cover.

Thanks, Owen

think the rule of thumb is twice as much out as two what comes in it is hard to do with the tc 31 but if you open up the back the hatch is weakend up big time i reinforced mine with a pice of brass and glued if on the back i opend up over the mounting bolt and enlarged the two existing holes

Alright, finaly got my two boats in the mail (a used blackjack 26 SS with a grim racer prop (sharpened and balanced, after market pipe) and a TC 31) The TC has some hull damge so its giving me the oportunity to fix, custom paint, open up some air vents in the back etc. I'll have lots of time doing this one right with some or all the mods from the very long thread, since i'll just use the BJ 26 in the mean time. Anyway, i need a prop or two, which ones should i get that won't be too hard on the motor. I remember reading it a few ago but now i can't find it? Also, where to order from (i live in Canada). thanks!!!!

I just got my tuned and modded engine back and went to install the flywheel. When I was tightening it on I noticed the pull cord got real tight. Almost like it was pulling itself in. So I went to unscrew it and now I cant get it off. Either way I turn it there seems to be an unreal amount of reistance. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

common cause of that is engine flooding, so remove the glow plug then try to pull the cord, don't let it squirt to ur face,it should work, then if not the cord might got tangled inside otherwise there's something seriously wrong with the engine..

HIGHVOLTAGE..,,imo, i'l put any engine that is bigger than the stock than gettin' smaller,,

the first two i would do as far as mods are remove 1/2" from the stock rudder . the next thing i did was port match the exhaust header with the stock exhaust header there is alot of restriction there is an aftermarket carb that is said to really wake up the engine it is in this thread somewhere and change the prop make shure the one on the boat now is ballanced and sharpened and tou have alot of reading to do and every question will be answered have fun and as far as paint i like to look as full size boat and pick and chose aspects of what i like

Hey Guys well i have decided on doing a engine swap and as wave waker said go big or dont go at all i am going to put the O.S. 46 vx-m in my boat. The .32 doesnt cut it for me i want something that people are gonna take a double look at.
well i just though i would post a couple pictures of my boat with the mods i have done. one is the canopy i lost one in the bottom of lake pleasant in hum big cove somewhere then the one i have now has foam in it to keep it from sinking and bought aero marine cowl locks and they worked until it fliped and where i glues the lock on the canopy broke but good thing it now floated. Then made some body pin mounts for it and it seemed a lot easier that trying to make brass tabs and it work really well.
Second is i was running60% omega in my boat with a x646 and my boat would be really hot so i made a exhaust cooling coilwith its own inlet and moved the header cooling line to have its own inlet ,it stays a lot cooler after i didthat,i alsoport matched the header, put 2 autobailers one in each sponson. I also trimed therudder, and moved the preasure fitting to the pipe. Braized the preasure fitting on theheader and sealed it upreally nicely hasno leaks. Put the traxxas 2.4ghz radio and trans in my boat from my 4x4 slash thati sold to buy the boat. i painted it withhobby paint on the top(silver) that i got from the lhs and lexan h20 paint fromACE on the bottom(red)i love working on this boat and tuning it as much as i love driving it. heres the pictures
Anyone in the phoenix area?
