RE: Thunder Cat 31
Hey guys,
i did another experimental set-up using .67 J-pipe on OS .46, and it works,,way back the Towerhobbies recommended .67 pipe for the OS .46 max motor kinda confusing then, i thought it was a typo error but i think they're right.
ok, the boat boat set-up OS .46 max motor, prather 245 prop, .67 J-pipe, 20% nitro and garmin gps indicating 48.3-48.8 mph.
boat was running wet and starboard heavy, didn't have a chance to adjust the trim..
next plan run it with 45 - 65% nitro, might play around with other props, balance the boat the give a little bit trim for a good ride.
try to post pics and video.

I just got one these boats it was stting in shop for 5 years and i got it for $75.00 and thiers nothing wrong with it !! Runs like a ***** my first ever ntro boat and i had to thank all the the pl that ever contributed to this thread for all the info !!! Its shame that the boat was stopped and they dont make parts for it anymore but i learned so much and have so much fun with this boat !! It really would have been nice for the proboat guys to see all the time and $$$$$$ that everyone here spent on making this boat correct !! So once again thanx to all the past present guys that have posted pictures and videos!!! Ill keep it as long as live ill tell you that and pass it on to the next generation when time comes !!!

thanks wave waker. You know its kind of odd now that i think about it. We both kind of got our boats around the same time. And we have both played around with tweaking them. I havent been in this forum much the past few months i come back with plans on putting in a larger engine like the .46 and painting the boat. And your doing the same. Too bad we dont live close it would be cool to go boating with you. Not too many peeps out here i know. Btw you boats paint job looks good. I like the layout.
Just stuck my scoop back on. Looks better now :d

Just been running the stock .32 have other boats to go real fast this is just easy to grab a jug of fuel and igniter and off the the pond Lhs was out of fuel but had a jug of 30% nitro 21% oil it's heli fuel but this engine seems to really like it and with the higher % oil I have gone a bit leaner in the needle and this has woken it up going to run this like the extra oil weather up here has turned to crap so no boating this week

No, I don't have his phone number, sorry. We just communicated mostly through e-mails and PM's. His was radared at 50 without all of the mods being done. It took us most of the day to get it there. He tried a lot of props from my box and the M-445 seemed to work the best. That's not saying that there isn't a better prop for it but what I had to try. No ther changes were made at that time, just trying a prop then hitting it with a gun.I'd almost like to get one of these boats myself just to see what can be done with it but I keep telling myself no more nitro boats.Somehow I keep dragging myself back in.For what it is with a little work, hitting 50 is a really good number for a RTR nitro boat.

I just like assembling my boats now as to me that's where the fun is, picking out the pieces that I like then tossing them together. I've had a few RTR's over the years, 2 were NIB boats that were given to me for reviewing, others I bought. I went to gas because I wanted to race a Cat and with them having their own class I wouldn't have to go up against 'riggers.
