Check your fuel lines and fuel tank for leaks , the o-ring on the cap tends to leak after time and you may not be getting the pressure from the pipe needed to get good fuel flow. Also crap in the tank like old fuel residue maybe crudding up your carb.

I'm running a sullivan tank now cuz the original was junk. I'll clean out the carb and put a filter in. Thanks for the tips.

Hi Everyone
I am going to put the Macs 2.5 Pipe on the stock engine. I wanted to know if i have to cut it down or leave it at its original length? Also is the stock header ok or will i be better off with the macs header? For people who have the 2.5 pipe can you notice the difference compared to the stock pipe?

The stock MV pipe is not really a tuned pipe, more of a muffler. You will definitely see a performance increase with the MAC 2.5 pipe. Cut it to around 8 3/8" measured from the glo plug to largest diameter on the pipe. I haven't tried a MAC header, but I do port match and smooth the inside of the MV header and JB Weld on a 1/8" brass tube coiled around the header for exhaust cooling. Recommend a Rum Racing Aftermuffler to reduce the exhaust db's without any performance degradation.

Hey All!

Just bought a MV and I have a few questions.

Can I run ODonell 30%Nitro-11%Lub?
Could I use a Spektrum DSM RX-TX?
Looking to upgrade the prop and rudder, which ones are good? Not looking for ultra speed.

Thanks

30% fuel is fine, but you should run at least 18% lub. 11% will cause problems with your engine! I don't see why you couldn't substitute the Spectrum gear for the Aqua radio. I'm not sure if the Aqua servos will connect to or work with the spectrum receiver. The stock rudder works well & a Grim turn fin will make it turn a lot better. Prop = Octura Y535 sharpened and balanced. I'm sure that the recommended Grim Prop will work fine too.

Thanks for the info, unfortunatley my LHS only orders from 2 places and they dont carry the Octura line. Could I use a Grimracer 36X55, is it comparable/direct drop in?

Is this the turnfin your talking about?

That's the turn fin. Comes in several colors. The Grim 38x55 appears to be the Grim prop that Tower recommends. The tech specs on that prop says it is comparable to the Y535 Octura.

The Grim prop is fine for messing around in the local pond, but if you want to race, the Y535 is noticably faster.

Theres no local racing here[&o] but ALOT of water. I would also like to upgrade the fuelcell. Could I use the following as a direct drop in?

if the 8oz fit sure, but it may be a bit heavy on the front.

I use the same tank but the 6oz.

The stock MV fuel tank works great as long as it remains in good condition. If you need to replace it, use the 6 oz Sullivan tank.

I contacted AQ about my spiderwebed fuel cell. Kinda upset because nitro dripped out and caused the hull to bubble in a few places on the bottom. Easy fix but still... Thanks for the help guys!

Well kids, look what we have here, it may be time to start another thread! http://towerhobbies.com/products/aquacraft/aqub34.html
Yup, Aquacraft upgraded the Miss Vegas with the 2.4 Gig Tactic radio system plus dumped the Aquacraft .18 for the Super Tigre. She also comes with the Glenn Quarles designed Super Tigre Q 18 pipe which also should up the power plus be quieter.

nice! i am not familiar with the supre tiger brand, but it looks promising, with nice radio gear to boot! would love to see someone run one against the older version, and see if there is an out of the box advantage over the old setup as far as speed and power......

good job aquacraft!!!

I don’t know if this helps but........

The boat is indeed faster then the old one. The new ST 18 is really quite powerful and holds up well.

Changes include
New Super Tigre motor with Super Start system (the 12V cord is trick!)
Changed sponsons
New Motor mounts
Tougher radio box plastic
new shorter header with cooling coil
new quiet pipe
and of course our new tactic 2.4 radio.

All in all the boat now runs in flat water as well as it does in rough.

The pipe is our response to being responsible boaters.. we (AquaCraft) want a quiet boat as well as a fast boat. The pipe is a FULL BLOWN RACE PIPE so take your time breaking in the motor. The pipe can be a tad peeky but when on the needle..

ROCK AND ROLL!

Grim

Hey Grim,

What kind of changes were made to the sponsons exactly?

I hate to say it but if the super tigre engine is like the ones they put into Duratrax trucks then Aquacraft made a GIANT step backwards. I had 4 of these engines and they were all junk.

Isn't it a little early to slam a product before it's even available? I was in Champaign last week and saw the new boat and engine. Grim told me he tested the new engine extensively and was very satisfied with both performance and durability.

The sponson mods are very similar to what many of us have added to our MVs.

JD(And yes, I have more than a passing interest in the Miss Vegas Deuce)

I've got an idea some of the sponson mods made were the results of some boaters up in Washington state that were also used in the U-1.
Mike was very excited about the new engine. We got it out of his hands long enough at the Toledo show to get a shot of it.
