New guy here. Am wanting to put a macs 3.5 pipe on my MV. Woundering do i need a header? Does this pipe have to be modded to fit? Read thru this tread till my eyes hurt. Lots of good info(to much to take in!) And does it require any other parts to make fit. Seen something about a fitting in exhaust for fuel tank breather to. Along the lines of drilling a hole.(dementions would be great) thanks in advance! By the way GREAT SITE!

Do you have the Vegas or the Deuce?
If you have the Vegas with the AQU .18 and the 90*header with no flange you will be able to use the MACS Pipe with no problem installing it. You will need to Cut the MACS Pipe between 8-3\4"in to 8-1\2"in measuring from the Stinger(the small outlet end) Forward. The longer you leave the pipe the more bottom end torque you will have(and you can always trim more off later if you want ) the shorter you cut the pipe the Higher the RPM Range you will be able to reach, But you Loose bottom end as you gain Top end. It's best to start long and work your way down.
The Pressure fitting should go at the fattest part of the pipe, drill a 1\8"in hole and thread it in,, But don't over tighten it and strip it out. I Like to seal mine in place with a dab of Silicone.

drill a 1\8"in hole and thread it in
Personally with all the different little hardware parts out there id double check and make sure of what you have before drilling.

Question guys....

New to boating...(not to rc..done it all)
I saw a vegas with a OS 18tz car engine in it...
NO need for water cooling?? Perhaps I missed something...

Running 50% you don't need it??

I have many .21 buggy engines....could I place one of those in here as well??
or is it the connection of the shaft that would be of issue??

I can get those machined if need be...???

Or is this not nec. becasue they are fast enough?? I would think going bigger engine= More power....
W/o having to run 30-50% Nitro!....
Seems to making some cents here...Litrally...??

Okay I see how the mod to the engine is....
I thought that this is how it was done...
(if it works on the pipe, why not on the engine head?) LOL....

Hello! i am priya i say that the painted fiberglass hull looks vibrant and sharp right out of the box, and a flip-top lid on the fuel tank does away with the need for a pump. A filter is built in, the flex drive strut assembly lets modelers control prop height and angle, and a preassembled, cushioned display stand is included that also doubles as a carry-all.

Hello! I am priya,
The ready-to-run model the U-18 Miss Vegas is a big winner in ease, performance, handling and convenience. Other nitro hydros are priced similarly, but they can’t match the high-end advantages and extreme user friendliness that the U-18 Miss Vegas offers. Anyone from entry-level to expert will enjoy tearing across the water with this sleek and powerful racer.

Has anyone in the boat racing scene know if there has been any talk about upping the size of engine so one can run less nitro??

I realize that there isn't any engines that come in a .21 size that are RTR..bolted in.
Perhaps if there is enough demand, one could regulate the amount of nitro into the .21

Has anyone talked about conversion from a DLE20 ito a .18 size boat?
Would the 20cc gas engine be too heavy??
30oz With ignition....

With the price of ignitions, one could install on the stock .18 size motor for 40$...

At the very least, it may save someone from getting wet, to retrieve there boat....
and it would save on fuel costs.... as one can lean out the motor when running ignition...

Just thoughts....

The boat is fantastic the way it is....

320$ for what you get is very good....
A quiet pipe to boot??
Is it a actual quite pipe (normally run 100-200$) or is it a muffled pipe??

I don't drop in nitro % weather I run a .12 or a .45, I run 35% on everything and that is not considered high Nitro.
My racing friend runs 55% from his .12 to his .45.

the DLE20 is almost 2 pounds (with EI), that is a major weight difference compared to the .18
with only a max of 9000 rpm I don't believe it would get an MV moving that much, and yes it would be to heavy.

regulating the amount of nitro is not something I see for the future.

yes, it is a quiet pipe, keep in mind that a quiet pipe is not always quiet has one may think, its just that it is below the max allowable db (90 or 92 db), I believe the pipe is at 82 or 86 db.

Dan.

VId off yotuber... interesting
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gPqpX...eature=related

Miss Vagas with a .21 O.S. in it.... (didn't have hatch on it) so not good...

If possible, I could run my buggy engines in it.???
Does someone make the couplers to place on a .21 that would match this boat??

Thanks..

One could easily turn the stock motor to run gas...

Place a china ignition w/a spark plug (small one works with same hole as glow threads)
Add gas .. (change out the the inners of tank so gas compatable)
go....

One wouldn't have to worry about the quirkyness that happens on planes, because the front doesn't go strait up (causing leaning out)

You wouldn't have to do anything to run nitro again, other than change inners of the tank.... (nitro will run great with a ignition and spark plug)
I have this setup on my OS twin...1.60...Gemini....

I would think the performance would go WAY down from Methanal fuel though..

This would be fine for those that didn't need the speed, and wanted cheap fun all day...play...

Ok....there aint no quiet pipe on the original MV...However....the MVD DOES have a quiet tuned pipe. And it costs about $20 shipped....when TH has them in stock. The Q18 MVD pipe.
Check it:

What's this - servo 'surging' issues.

Miss Vegas with stock aquacraft radio. (edit: this is not the deuce with the digital radio unit)

When the boat radio is on and I touch the antenna, the throttle and rudder servo's randomly surge and move. Anything I can do about this? It's strange.

Vegas v1 question on engine rebuilding....

What is the amount of play that should be in the rod to crank bearing connection?

I need to put in a new piston and sleeve; cooked the motor via getting too lean.  When disassmbled, I seem to have a bit of vertical play in the rod to crank connection.  Reversing the rod to put the piston pin on end on the crank side does not change the play.  I don't feel any play in the rod to piston pin connection.  I don't see any scoring on the crank.

Is this normal or do I have a problem?

Thanks!
