The O.S. VZM in a Miss Vegas I did was probably running in the mid/high 40s. The RG would probably be more in the low 40s. A 21 just doesn't "drop into" the Miss Vegas.

Is there a good "under the boat" strut for a 3/16" flexshaft to use for conversion of the Miss Vegas to NAMBA Sport 20 rules? Also, how does this affect the prop selection?
Has anyone already done this?

RE: AquaCraft U-18 Miss Vegas Hydro Thread_Make it Fast!
Guys, my two Miss Vegas's came in the mail I got off ebay. One each from different people. One was NEW as stated in the auction and never been tampered with. THe other said it was new but here is what I found when i opened the box. Broke prop. Strut has no bearings/bushings in it. The prop shaft just has way to much movenent in it. Fuel in the fuel tank and the exhaust coupler was black on the inside. The wooden exhaust rest had came unglued off the hull. The pull start had been rubbing the bottom of the hull and actually made a crack through the hull enough to go all the way through and you can see it under the boat.
Someone glued some wood infront of the fuel tank and painted it black. I have no idea why.
Yes I only paid 205 for it but it was listed as new. My main concern is the crack in the hull under the motor and the missing bushings in the strut. Are these simple brass tube bushings?? Am I being too picky??
All I can say im glad I used pay pal.

I pulled the shaft out and put a mic to it. Its well worn about 3/16 from each end of the hard shaft. Between that is approx .167-.170 Id of strut is .196.
Yes this guy ran it a while and the shaft is ruined. Unless I turn the larger OD down on my lathe. I doubt I can do this if the shaft is hardened steel.
Guys who other than Tower carries new parts for these boats? Its a good idea to have a spare shaft anyway.

there is no bushing or bearing for the strut, is there a Teflon tube in the brass stuffing tube?
also your prop shaft is within specs, I just measured mine and both tips of the prop shaft (ends) are .175 ID and the center portion is .168

With the old strut shaft system the shaft is stepped. The new boats using the grimracer hardware are not. Your shaft is correct.

On mine, the teflon tube slides into the stuffing box through the strut, so I think you have everything in that respect.

Hey Guys,
Does anyone have an .18 they would want to sell me? I toasted the crank shaft today after only 1.5 gallons of 30% or less. Thanks.

Does anybody know how I might go about acquiring a used nitro motor for my vegas? I blew the crank this weekend after only 1.5 gallons of fuel. Thanks for the help!

anybody know where i can get a new miss vegas. Tower is out of stock till late december. I want to have the boat before christmas. Also when tower says late december does that usually mean january or does it really mean late december. Also i heard that it is hard to get the color you want in my case yellow, and that it is almost like whatever they have available is what ur gonna get

can the miss vegas be set up to take left turns as well as right turns? what makes this kind of boat handle the way it does? (does not do left turns as well as right turns)

The Vegas and the gear are made to race in a clockwise race, its not because the boat can't do it, its because those are the rules made by the associations.
if you want to race counter-clockwise than you have to find a turn fin design for left race and mount it on your left sponson, more than likely you will have to move your rudder on the right side of the transom. Don't quote me on the rudder part, it may work fine by leaving it there but I believe you would have to switch it.
