There are epoxy specific dyes that are like $5 to $10 for an ounce (more than plenty).

I used 30 minute expoxy with a little dye (look back a few pages for my boat; orange hull with grey interior). I didn't thin my epoxy but you certainly could. If you've run your boat, the real trick is to get the hull clean before you coat it. I had really clean mine. Used alcohol and sanded it well - especially in corners - to get it clean.

PS - be careful about covering the motor mounts. Can raise the engine height messing up the stuffing box alignment. I left mine uncovered. Also, don't fill too much under to collette lest it run and you have to grind it out.

Mike,
yes it hardened, it doesn't need a lot just a few drops.
it took a little longer to cure but it did.

I have been running it for 4 years now.

Dan.

cool deal was just wondering, sometimes you go to adding things to epoxy and you end up with issues.

Ok need some advise. Duece with the .32 nearing 55mph th hull starts rocking from side to side, and if I don't back off the throttle you see it go skipping across the water..
Do I need to add weight to the front or what?

We might be able to give better advice if we had a video of it doing that...I had to add about 6 oz. of weight to my left sponson to keep it on the water once I got it over the 50mph mark.

Mine started doing that when I went with a really high pitch prop. I then changed to a lower pitch, but larger diameter, and no problem.

Also remember, this hull really wasn't intended to be going this fast.

Still looking for .32 solid backplate?? Anyone know where I can find some .18 engine mounts? Would rather not fabricate. Thought I had them on way but guess not:

1...Sorry there is a slight shipping delay in this item. We will have this item out to you in a couple of days. Once again sorry for the delay.
- waldorfrccom
2.. Dear waldorfrccom,
I have not received these items yet? Is there a hold up?
-trespass
3...Dear trespass,
the engine mount is on back order.
- waldorfrccom

Terrible ebay store..ironically, I live in VA. and receive product faster from Tower Hobbies than I do from this guy the next state over.

Hey TrEsPass!

Sitting here watching all the white stuff coming down outside. Be awhile before the Vegas gets back on the water. [&o]

Just wondering if I mentioned the upgraded carb I put on my .32? Direct drop in from Super Tiger. Made a noticeable difference - much bigger carb opening.

I have a full mod .18TZ in my vegas and I tried all of the run of the mill standard Octura props with decent results, however I didn't start seeing what I would call best results until I tried the higher pitch props, but I was looking for all out speed and I wouldn't recommend them for racing. The fastest so far for me were the Octura 2137/3, 1938, V937. I also have a 2140/3 that I haven't tried yet because of the weather and other things, but I intend to try sometime this season. The 440/3 and the 640/3 were the best racing props so far with consistant results and performance. I also noticed that when my Vegas gets in the 50mph range it starts acting a little funny and wants to self destruct, but that might just be my hull and setup cause it's all stock for now and just and upgraded turn fin....but that's just me and my experience.

Here's a vid I did some time back using a 2137/3..

Thanks for the prop info FX4L2CX that should save alot of money playing with props! I also had trouble with the stability of the hull at high speeds but adding weight to the left sponson and doing my sponson mod really helped alot now im not scared to go faster! I have watched your video on youtube about 100 times now and thats been my target for about 1 1/2 years and now I hope to be not to far off your vegas! what nitro% are you running in that vide? I have been running 50%
