Besides Lawless who else makes lower units? I seem to recall running across a website that had a black lower unit, but now I can't find the link.

You might have seen this one... It's a carbon lower for electrics. Not sure what it can handle.

K&B Do make a carbon fibre lower unit but its under a different company called REK I think from memory

It's not made by K&B but a modified copy of one. REK was making them for Jim Iriwn of Irwin Pipes but there is a big legal hassle going on there right at the moment.

Lawless, K&B, Irwin (if you can find them as Ron points out the legal issues) are the lowers for K&B bolt patterns. The Hyperprod is not a good option. A couple of racers in the Southern Indiana Prop Nuts club bought them. One sent theirs back, the other (last I heard) was working with the creator to make a longer skeg / larger cav plate.
