Shouldnt the radio parts be inside a water tight box??

I guess what I am getting at, is you can't make the hull water tight, because it has to have a way of sucking air in for the engine...so...water will get inside the hull too... You might want to get a tupperware container and mount it in the hull, then mount your radio gear inside it...

pic #2,as the boat "leans" into the turn the fin bites, anything else deeper is drag and problems if your fin is tweaked (crooked).....make sure it's sharpened and you can also round off the leading edge on the bottom, this will reduce transom lift when cornering.....[:-]

I have the same question Sean has, what are you gonna do about keeping water out of you " radio box ". Yes it does look good the way it is but the first bit of water is gonna ruin your electronics correct? Do you have your water pick up picking up water and just shooting it out the side? Also it almost looks like the engine isn't going to get any direct air against it? Is there a cover for the open hull? If so I don't think ya can cover the air cooled engine and if not then ya really need to do something about all the electronics open like they are. Hope all goes great !!!!

WHY do you need a water pick-up that runs into the boat to exit out the side if you have an air-cooled engine??????[:-]

the front, edge it out like on the tip of a butterknife, would'nt worry too much about polishing as much but sharpening helps more....

all of you are correct on the radio tray, not "radio box" being uncovered at the moment. if you havent noticed yet or not. i have been doing things to this boat for awile now. never said it was complete either. im still trying to figure out a nice design for the hatch. sine i never found the stock one. im going to make one out of bass wood.

oh and ugh. the water pick up.

haha its about time someone noticed that.
its only there for looks right now. i may or may not hunt down a water cooling head for my .15. havent decided yet. i still need to pick up a differant header and pipe still.

good looking out drive!!! lol,,, that motor does look kinda low in there,, doint the copper/brass tubine around the head like someone said a few post ago is a good idea,,also once you get it in the water,, you dont need a air filter.. also if you cant find a water cooling head for it go to the nitro vee fourm and aroind pages 20 and up there was a guy who put a 3.3 in one and adapted a head to the stock cooling head.. btw, what motor are you running there?..

i am going to try to run the copper tube around the head, or else when i make my hatch im going to have to make a scoop in it. and its going to be plumbed right to the head and then plumbed to the back of the head and out the back of the hatch.

the engine the OS's .15 CV-X Max
pro .15 maxx replacement

This is a top I made for my Jet Stream, I bought it used with out the top so I made one. The boat didn't run very long so I put a Traxxas truck gas tank in it and now it will run for 15-20 minutes, before it would run for 4-5 minutes.
