RE: Prather, Where'd They Go?
Hey guy's the props may not be gone... I was talking with my Bro-in-law. He was on mecoa's website, and noticed they now have new K&B props. He clames that last night he saw the pic of one and it said prather on it, but the writing is not there now.
someone that know's there props check it out and see if you think they are prop's from prathers molds.

RE: Prather, Where'd They Go?
Just to let y'all know, I was surfing the net yesterday and found this website:
www.gravesrc.com
They have some prather products in stock, but no 215's or 220's.

RE: Prather, Where'd They Go?
A few calls and the truth is told... Ok so Mecoa does not have the prather prop molds. They cloned the props, and are producing ones like Prather. Prather did not go out of business but rather the owner chose to retire and sold the company... to who you may ask. [link]http://hyperprod.bizhosting.com/index.html[/link] These guy's. Yep guess they closed the deal a few day's ago, and just got all of prather's boat molds, prop molds, and everything in the past day or so. So we'll see the Prather name live on.

Where did you find that information about the owner choosing to retire? My LHS received a letter similar to this one found on a Canadian hobby store website. http://www.greathobbies.com/news/?news_id=15

RE: Prather, Where'd They Go?
My boss and I race boats. He was trying to find info on prather to see if he could still get building instructions for a hrydro he got on e-bay. He was calling a few places and one of the owners told him that. Sure there is a chance the guy was BSing but Prather was sold so the story seems to fit.

RE: Prather, Where'd They Go?
Note that it says only Prather props and nothing else that Prather made. Most of Prather's boats are 20 or more years old so they're just a little out of date. The Aggressor was the last new hull that I know of that they made and that was done a good 6-8 years ago.

RE: Prather, Where'd They Go?
In the phone conversation my boss had with someone at hyperformance he asked about prathers boat's. The man said they were planning on still making some of the boat's but not making others. So we'll have to wait and see what planning means.
