FLUSH THOSE ENGINES!!!!!!!!!!!
After buying a used MAC 21, got a big surprise when I broke it down for a check of its condition. A member from one of the other forums, Jetpack, told me about his technique for cleaning such badly neglected engines. Get a small crockpot and some green antifreeze.
This pot will only be used for this purpose! The one I bought was $10 form Wally world. Jetpack said the key is low temps for long period of time. This pot only had a on/off switch but the liquid temp was 260*, perfect. After 24hrs, pull parts and rinse with very hot water, helps dry the parts. After the rinse, I used compressed air to make sure there was no water left to cause anymore corrossion.
Highly recommend this technique. This is a lesson for the people new to nitro, methanol draws moisture, flushing engine insures this want happen to your engine.
Badly neglected engine:
Engine soaking:
End result:

RE: FLUSH THOSE ENGINES!!!!!!!!!!!
Could not remove the rear bearing until engine was through soaking, too much corrossion. After the 24hrs and the engine had been rinsed and dried, heated the case up to get the bearings out, a little bit of crud behind the rear bearing, nothing a piece of Scotch Brite couldnt take care of.
