how do you drill the holes for the engine mount in the stringers that are already glassed into the boat once you work out the cg ?

I use a 90 degree attachment for my Dremel.

cheers , looks like I'm getting myself a new dremel , the one I have is an old one which is a different brand , don't think the dremel attachment will fit

A ball cutter for the dremel will work, but you will most likely be left with an oversize hole with some cupping. It can be reduced if you can mark and work both sides and go half at a time.

Start with a small ball cutter with a small tapered shank, and then change to a larger one and try and stay on location.

You might check. Most "dremel style" tools will have a removable collar that will allow for use with many dremel accessories.

I use a small tight quarter drill also. Thing will access spaces as small as around 1 1/4" to drill a hole (including drill bit). Sweet little tool.

I have used this method for a new boat with no fuel residue. Mark wher eyou want your holes and get a set of vise grips and a 10 penny nail. Clamp the nail in the vise grips and heat the nail point until it's cherry red and burn the holes that you want works great but do not do it around a smoke detector. Seal the holes as you would if you had drilled them usually with CA glue.
