Honestly, I don't think that is a speedmaster. If it is speedmaster I didn't see anything (on the website) that said the actual dimensions of the boats it said engine size. I am not sure about the older speedmaster but the newer models don't have wood rails.

im not sure either, i think it might be an older model, i has a speedmaster decal but its not thier current logo. and im pretty sure, the boat is a 7.5, (seller wasnt sure). i was just curious, cuz i haddent seen anything like it. its a complete boat minus motor. and i paid $68 for it so even if it isnt a speedmaster i think i still got a good deal

I don't believe I see any speedmaster hardware.

I would eliminate that motor mount and go with a better one with rubber mounts.

I don't know about the hull, I'm not a mono guy, but still is a good deal.

What is in the picture is a Speed Master, not a Speedmaster. Note the way they are spelled. We have the same problem with Mac and MAC.
I don't know the Speed Master site but the Speedmaster site is www.htbboats.com .

A boat isn't any better than the person building it or setting it up. Some people can totally mess one up while others can take a brick and make it scream.
I don't know anything really about the Speed Master boat except for what little that I've seen on them on eBay.
I do know a little about what I'd do to yours though. First, I'd throw away those awful trim tabs and replace them with a good set. Of all brands, I'd replace them with Speedmaster's.

got the boat, looks good, i was wondering though if anyone new what size mount it has in it its only a 36" boat, but the mount is way too big for my 7.5, would that make the mount for a .67? if so is that too big for the boat? heres some more pics, its a nice looking hull. and now that i see the sticer more closly it says speedmaser racing products, so i think it just has speedmaster hardware. it also had 2 gas tanks one really small on the side and a big one in the front, why is that?

36 inches should be a 7.5 boat....my 7.5 mono is about 38 inches, and is doing 50mph on an older CMB .45, which is a good engine if your gonna buy one for the boat and can be found pretty cheap, any .45 engine like a k&b would put the speeds close to that though once setup, I am running a MACS quiet pipe and its fairly quiet fro what it is...and for prop, I am having great success with an octura x450/3

Server problems are making the pictures so large, it's been a problem in other forums the past week also.
That's an Octura extruded aluminum motor mount. It may have been cut to fit the engine in it. Octura goes mostly by the width of the mount, probably 4 inches in a hull that size. A 5" mount is better for a .45 on up.

OK, I just remembered to go measure my trim tabs, they're 3" wide and 1-3/4" long.

ok, i measured between the rails and is 5" i forgot that i had another octura mount laying around that will fit my 7.5 il just use it for now tell i can get a nicer mount. yeah i dont know what they had in this boat, but it must have been big cuz when i set my 7.5 in the mount the holes were way too far apart. thanks for the trim tab info, i whent ahead and bought 2 sets on speedmaster tabs so i could put them on both my boats
