Chyer, That sounds correct, basically 40". There was a 50" version of this hull made, only like 2 were made tho according to Ken. I was wondering, since yours has the different hatch, if maybe you had a 50" version! I love that hatch on yours! Very very nice! Wish I had it! Mike

I wanted to share this with everyone. This came from one of the original investors in International Hobbies, and is a special hull/ hatch combination that quite possibly was never publically released...if it was, I have not seen one yet! It utilizes the Formula 402 Gas "flange" style hull, with a one piece 402 SR1 style hatch! It also has the 402 gas graphics, and single outdrive like the gas model came with. It's a very interesting layout. I added the Formula decals and logo on the sides and rear sun deck area. I drew those up and cut them with my vinyl cutter. Turned out well! Enjoy, Mike

Well, I have been busy over the last few weeks. I did a paintjob on a Wellcraft Excalibur Cat, and a Formula 402 SR1 build. Both started as new hulls, with minor issues here and there. I got all those repairs done, and went to spraying. Here are some pics!

Very Nice! I see you mounted TFL drives on the cat. Nice to see something finally come along comparable to the old AMPS drive that have been out of production so long. It sure is exciting to see someone with the skills taking the time to build a couple of these boats as intended. I hope to build a few I have been saving like this too one day.

Thanks man, I really enjoy restoring these boats. I have about 8 left to do. I am doing a total restoration on my International Hobbies Miami Vice Scarab next. Going to try and make it more realistic as it was kind of "toyish" in original form. The TFL drives are pretty nice, and look great on the Wellcraft!

I finished up another Kool Velden Tunnel, and now have both cowling versions of this boat, as you can see in the pics. I am still working on the Formula 402 SR1..as I still have to add the drives, and do the interior. Enjoy, Mike
