CMB35RS would be the strongest. Not a nitro. But strong none the less.

I'm guessing it would have to be the .45 and higher, since I don't believe there was any HR made in the .21 size.

I'm wondering he ment LS??[&:] RS is a better motor from what I read and heard about. I have one love the power of my CMB.21RS Redhead. They do make a .91HR!!! He might be talking about them??[&:]

I dont know the answer to your questions...but .45s come in RS and HR. I had heard that the RS is stronger, but I got a deal on an HR, and when one guy saw it run, he said, "you running that RS engine everyone else is?"...

The numbers I saw listed showed the same RPM and HP on both engines...

I may be wrong (not the first time) but isn't the HR made for hydro's? If so, there might be a difference in timing.

the RS stands for (Racing Special), HR (Hydro Racing), RS-H (Hydro Racing Special).

all-in-all, we need Avenge to come back and tell us which engines he is comparing.

Sorry guys I have been away from the computer, The motor size is a .45 I have heard that the HR does not pull as strong as the RS. Just wondering if this is true. I am planning to get the motor for my sport 40. And Ron told me from a previous discussion that motors in size were limited. I was planning to use an OS .46 But was told that it had issues with its case cracking. Mack is in limited quantities and ops is just not sold anymore. If anyone else has other ideas let me know.

Yes a sport 40 hydro. Why the HR Dan??? I thought the RS had more RPMS and the carb on the RS was better that the HR. This is what I was told.

I haven't heard anything bad about the RS or the HR, looking at the site they both have identical specs but they do vary in designed. Maybe the earlier version had something wrong.

The HR is a little less money and comes with a separate remote 3rd channel needle.

Well...here is what my thoughts were, right or wrong, when I got my engine. Most boats are running surface drive now. I thought surface drive was as much about RPM as it was about power. With this in mind, wouldn't even a mono (with surface drive) be better off with an HR engine, IF the HR is made more for RPM??

Anyhow, not really relavent since you are running a hydro... Never had an RS to compare the HR to, so don't know which is actually better.

I don't know either. The carb on the HR is suppose to be a little more sensitive that the RS.. Never owned a CMB that is why I am getting as much info as I can before I make a decision. I was told about the info on the IW site. I guess it boils down to setup of the boat. Can't afford 2 motors to compare[][]. Maybe buy one now and maybe santa will be good to me this winter and get the other!!!!!
