Is that a ASP .12 in there? Years ago we were racing Dumas DV-10 "Short Stuff" and they were moving along real good with that engine

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SBiq6-_Xtb8 This is just one vid of about 6 that he has on the subject.

Guy put his vintage Fuji .049 water cooled / throttled Sea Horse outboard engine onto a plastic airboat.
Heavy but it worked as the stock prop is small enough to endure the load. Very rare to see 1/2A boats
actually recorded on vid for all to see. The modern Fuji .05 in a outrigger hydro should hit 30mph +

Example my Fuji .050 engine bench testing this one on a Profi 1/2A tuned pipe.

No, unfortunately not. The boat has not even been in the water yet.
I hope to take it to the pond next spring.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wSWYAVal7fo He uses a inboard elect motor in conjunction the the 1/2A engine to help
govern boat speed by reversing the elect prop.

beautiful little Dumas boat! Looks like the rudder hardware may be sized for a .20 or .40 sized boat?

Not my rigger Maxi is out of France he is using the stock car pipe and header.
Last word was he was going to try a 1930 reshape and cut it down. Good
jump in pitch should have him pushing 60mph + Which is fassst for micro 1/2A!
These size boats can work well in small local ponds and still provide plenty of
heart thumping thrills, that and being so small and ferocious makes it very kewl.
Would be easy with a pull starter rather than having to deal with fabricating the
engine flywheel setup, his came without, most of the Picco's P-0 come with.

Point of view from the drivers side of the bank.

ah I see. Thanks for providing these details, exactly what I was looking for. Very neat simple outrigger kit. I would have preferred the "conventional" verison of the Picco P Zero as well, the pull-starter mechanism adds weight and undesireable bulk (I think).

And whaaalah the most ferocious 1/2A RC throttled rigger power plant is born.
I tapped the coupler to 4mm and the flywheel but really don't need the wheel
if I am going with pull start. I will reduce the handle size and tuck it in the rigger
when running. I used a prop drive collet and thrust plate so all prop thrust is
put on the bearing and not the engine parts from Mecoa, they carry the back
plate conversion too should I with to deal with belt starting. The grub screws
are robust 4mm cudo's to Joyway in those regards, 2 lock down the flex drive
very well. The other two for the motor side is a bit redundant as I get a solid
connection to the engines crank with plenty of threads. Really nice 1/2A set up
with the Profi .8cc tuned pipe and sportwerks header. The full wave resonator
pipe will held the maximum possible boost over a typical 1/4 wave car pipe.
Hardware is from Joyway their strut is the smallest aluminum one out there
comes from their Offshore Warrior and the 1/8th in flex drive line kit.

6.9oz as shown 160w of power good for 40k unloaded with the right prop.
With modified props
1.6x24mm at 40k / 61 mph
1.9x22mm at 40K / 72 mph

Recap I have verified one of my 3 Picco's power out thus far:
You can get these and the 1/2A tuned pipes online ebay while they last.
Speeddomingo sells the pipes he gets a batch in they dont last..
Send him a message get on the list..

http://www.ebay.com/usr/speeddomingoe?_trksid=p2047675.l2559

http://www.ebay.com/itm/322184307928?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Picc...id%3D100275%26

The micro strut rudder set for 1/8th flex drive on order I want the rudder
it's small but not the strut bit big ok for .12 size boats but no good for 1/2A

http://www.ebay.com/itm/282055779355?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

Strut difference is in scale 29mm vs 44 mm.

Renderings:

Perhaps a cowl to hide the pull start and reduce drag from the fins.

You're going to find out that you won't need those cooling coils. You can even chop off some of those heat sinks. The cool air off the water and the engine being exposed keeps it very cool.
I've been messing with .12's for a lot of years and never needed much. The RC cars and trucks need them because the motors are under a Lexan body.

Thank you Ron,

Progress 25.5" from sponson tip to transom 17" x 6mm carbon tube

Adjustable sponsons via rubber tubing for keepers.
Secondary brace for side loads in turns.
Strong light set up for a ply rigger.
Would be nice to do one up in carbon plate.

100cc / 3.4oz tank made from a nylon snap box sealed with special sauce.
