SV 27 GO .18 Mod Build
Here is my mod SV 27. I had a wonderful crash last summer into some rocks, so along with all the epoxy/body work that was needed, i decided to paint the boat a different color and drop in a GO .18 engine that I had in my Miss Vegas (which was upgraded to a OS 18 TZ). The boat was originally the stock yellow, and is now painted with the House of Kolors White Pearl. Can't really see the pearl in the pics, but it looks really sharp in the sun.
The GO 18 is a rear exhaust w/pull start, which worked great in the Vegas, not so great in the SV. I had to remove the pull start and install it upside down in order to get the motor to fit in the stock engine mounts. I think a side exhaust GO would work ALOT better. Probably a drop in replacement for the stock one. But, that was what I had on hand. Barely enough room to clear the fuel tank as well. The pipe is stock, just tried to polish it up a bit. Radio box is a custom job as well. A little narrower than stock to allow clearance for the pipe.
I coated the entire interior with a marine grade epoxy (HD) to add a little strength, especially to the wood parts. I also added 3mm locknuts to better secure the transom hardware. I found the backing plates seemed to strip easily and I could not tighten things down enough.
There is also some velcro strips under the radio box for adding weight if it needs it.
On the transom I added adjustable trim tabs from OSE, the prop is a Grim racer 40 x 53, and I .added polished aluminum exhaust tips (left one is real, right one is just for looks).
Also mounted an external antenna.
She'll be back in the water for the first time next week.
Thanks for looking!

Interesting. I was going to post a link to the GO homepage for you - but its gone. I also talked to the place where I bought mine, and they said they were probably going to drop the whole line because they have had such a hard time getting them on a consistent basis.
This is a great motor, and I've been very happy with it, but I may not be able to get parts now - go figure.

Hey Karl...Excellent job with the install and the paint...it really looks awesome. So have you found anything out about Go-Engine yet? I just read that last post and was kind of thrown off as I've been outta the loop for a bit. Tried to google them, but no dice. funrcboats.com still sells them, so I'm confused. It's a tough little motor. As you know mine is modded out and I got a gallon and 1/2 through it, without the slightest problem...tore it down, clean as a whistle! Be ready to start looking at bigger props man! Let me know how it does and keep away from those rocks! I'm waiting on fuel and some different props, so next week for me as well...-William (p.s.-that motor likes 50% and a cold plug)

Hey Kaptain...you have to lose that pipe soon man!...You're holding back a lot of power with that stocker! O.P.S. or Mac's. I went with O.P.S. quiet pipe for 45 bucks. -W

Thanks for the compliments guys.
The stock pipe has been modified by drilling a 1/8" hole in the rear baffle - relieves some of the backpressure - allowing higher revs (so I'm told by the "experts" at my boat club.
A Cooper pipe will be coming soon. I have one in my Miss Vegas and love it, really lowers the sound levels as well as increasing output.
As for the flywheel it is an OS Max Marine Flywheel.

Hope that helps!

Pedro88: The Cooper is a great pipe, but it is a larger diameter pipe. You might have to make a new, narrower radio box. Don't know about the OPS or MACS as far as direct drop in replacement either, as it can be a tight fit in the SV cockpit.

Flywheel, O.S. Max Marine Engines
SKUOSMG2637
This is the factory O.S. Max Flywheel for all .10 to .18 Nitro engines. Designed for use with non pull start engines requiring a belt to start the engine in boats, it is perfectly weighted to keep the engine running with a load. Can be used on pull start and non pull start engines. NOTE: Fits .18CVR-M, .18CVR-MX, .15CV-M, .15CV-MX, .12CZ-M, .12CZ-MX, .10FP-M, .10FP-MX. This slips over the crankshaft & fits snugly (no threads) held in place with a nut on the end of the cranksahft.
