RE: AQUACRAFT'S NEW MISS VEGAS U-18

Hello, I think around 10 to 12 minutes. I removed the stock glassed over wood blocks with a dremel. Placed the 13 oz. tank about 1/4" from the engine and centered it up from side to side and then took a black sharpie and marked where it was. I then took a 1/4" piece of square balsa stock and cut 2 pieces the length of the tank and made sure that the tank would fit down between them and then I epoxied them on the outside of the black lines that I had marked earlier. After that, I took another piece of balsa stock and cut another piece to join between the other two and epoxied it right behind the engine. With this done, now the tank won't move. I then took a dremel and drilled 2 holes in the pieces of wood on each side of the tank. I drilled these holes about 3" apart and then screwed little picture hanging hooks into those holes. Now all I had to do was to take 2 rubber bands and attatch them so that they would secure the tank from moving. Then, all you have to do is plum your fuel lines. I'll try to send some pictures on here of what mine looks like.

RE: AQUACRAFT'S NEW MISS VEGAS U-18

After having water in my boat, I decided to fill the bath tub and see just where the water was coming in at. Not relizing just how low the boat sets in the water, turns out that the water was coming in from around the exhaust which I noticed is completely under water . Is it just me, or does the exhaust being under water seem a little weird? Granted, wide open, I'm sure the exhaust isn't under water but slowing down or brining the boat in to the shore, it surely has to stall the motor,,,,,,,,doesn't it? Design flaw?

The transom exhaust is not exiting into the water even at a slow speed. If you are concerned about water entering the hull around the exhaust opening, dab silicone glue around the rubber exhaust tube where it exits the transom. Unless there is a considerable amount of water in the hull when it is running some water in the hull is not a performance issue.

Thanks for the info. I did put sealer around the exhaust. I just thought it was kinda funny that while the boat was sitting in the water that the exhaust pipe was under water.

I believe that there is a pin that is inserted in the crank journal in which the spring loaded plate grabs against.

Regarding the water stream discussed earlier, I'll bet that it is coming from the gap between the strut and the transom. plug the gap with something, like a piece of foam and see if it quits.

I blew my stock motor probably due to impatience in breaking in after a gallon of fuel. This deuce is my first boat and has me hooked on r/c boating.Iv'e decided to replace the stock motor with the O S TZ .18.Just a couple of questions,do I need the slide or rotary carb and what header pipe combo would fit well in this hull.I've read the motor will bolt right in the stock motor mount's

When my rudder mount bolt hole stripped out, I just drilled them out to accept some 8-32 bolts w/ lock washers. Dont have to worry about them coming out or loose.

To replace my broken rudder control horn, I scrounged up some material at work and TIG welded it together, then drilled and tapped it for the shaft and set screw:

RE: AQUACRAFT'S NEW MISS VEGAS U-18

Probably 3mm screws on the strut mount,,,,,looking at the pic it looks like the drive dog has no clearance for shaft wind up witch will put undue stress on the mount losening the screws, when installing the flex shaft make sure that the drive dog has at least 1/8'' clearance between dog and strut bearing...

According to what I have read from Grim Racer you can get right around 41mph out of the stock engine using his setup and 50% nitro

The drive dog has a flat face on the front end and that is where you need the clearance of 1/8 to 3/16''to the rear of the strut where the shaft comes thru,,,,,,,ok?

Yes, but only after the HSN has been set. You want the LSN set so when you give it a quick squeeze of the trigger, it doesnt bog, you want the rpms to pick up quickly.

Take a look on ebay. Alot of stores there sell Miss Vegas parts - brand new. Just type in "miss vegas" and scroll down to the stores listings. I saw some there earlier.
