This boat is such an improvement over the first boat. So far, the only upgrades I have done are grim turn fin and CMDi balanced and sharpened octura y 535. I gps'd the boat (unfortunately no video) with 60% nitro and it ran 43.5 mph. At that speed, the boat gets a bit flighty and a handfull to pilot. I don't know if I should give the strut a degree or 2 of down angle to lower the nose or lower the strut. The strut is set as high as the stock setting allows and has 0 degree angle.

I can't see how the original miss vegas can compete with this boat stock for stock in an rtr race.
I stuck 3 oz. of lead on the front of the boat on the inside sponson walls. This seems to help keep the boat running more stable at top speed. I also made a new turn fin bracket from aluminum L material and lowered the Grim Fin. In rough water conditions, this helps keep the right sponson from lifting in a high speed turn.

Info needed... I have the duece and I have converted it to the .32 and it runs great. My question is will the stock pipe work with the .32? because the mac pipe is very loud

Coy, give it a try...I have done some testing with it on a .21 and it works OK.

coy, I would definetly not run the stock pipe if you want performance, try a Macs 2340 (or a 2343 which has a 15degree up-angle) header with a 1328 muffled pipe (not as loud). Start by taking a 1/2 inch off each then cut small increments off until you are happy with the performance. You will need to cut out the wood pipe mount (leave 1/8" on hull floor) and trim a bit of hull (where the cowl sits) to accomodate the larger diameter pipe. I have been messing around with the .32 in a deuce for about 5months now and pretty much have her tuned in. Another good idea is to extend your rudder using 3/8" aft and use one of Toyotatruckin's rudders, I tested out the rudder on the .32 and it pretty much solved spin out issues due to prop walk. As mr dunlop said, add some weight to the sponson, I used one and half sticks (4.5oz) to settle the squirrliness
(torque roll) on straights. After some minor piston sleeve porting I ran a 48.3mph run with other boats in the water, once I was able to get the others out of the pond I hit 50+ then lost the ride due to a loose rudder control arm.

I happened by this ride, some great work on mods, any suggestions on where to go with her?

well it depends on how you wanna run it tod. if ya wanna race it stick an .18 in her! You could even go .21 with the way Matt has her set up. It is a strong hull.

The Deuce is on sale at tower for $249. For tower members you can spend another $1 and get $50 off, so $200 out the door shipped. Good deal

hope for some help,  first time rc,  ran the second tank of fuel out, refilled the tank, hook up the starter and all that I got was the starter the engine was not turning over.  opened it up and could not find the starter spring nor pin.  talking to teck support, the pin is free floating, does anyone have some ideas of the how or why.  I was really starting to enjoy, for the speed was increasing with only two tanks.  Now I am not sure about keeping the .18 or going to another engine.

I would suggest you consider using a starting belt and electric starter. The Super Tigre 18 is a solid engine. You need to take the engine apart to remove the spring and pin before running it again. SUPG2052 is the part number for the backplate to replace the gear drive starter when using an electric starter.
