Pro Boat boats have a bad rep here to be honest with you. I did look inside the box at one at a LHS and wasn't all that impressed. What they might call a ride pad was wide enough to almost call it a flat-bottom boat. The transom hardware didn't look too bad but it was about as minimal as you can get.
I might be jaded after all of these years, spoiled on building my boats my way but if you're relatively new to R/C boating it would be up to you if you want it or not.

I bought a pro boat miss lumar cheap from e bay because the rudder assy ripped out of the hull during shipping..when I received it I imediatley disassembled it and rebuilt everything including new hardware aand radio gear it was all junk..and yes I tore out the entire transom and rebuilt it so I know it can handle some stress now the glass work on this was iffy at best way to thin..

I just bought one of these, I like what I see with it. Albeit I'm not an expert. Would anyone be able to suggest a good prop, I would really like to switch from the plastic one that comes with it.

Thanks guys

I ran it for the first time tonight and had a blast. I was just breaking in the engine, but I liked what I saw a lot. I did break a prop on seemingly nothing, which is why I want to replace the plastic one. From what I saw tonight it was pretty speedy, its definitely a good time. Can someone please suggest a prop? It calls for a 1.34" x 2.06" and I can't find any metal ones that size, any suggestions?
Thanks guys

I'm guessing that it might have a 1/8" (.125") propshaft. Wioth a .15 you're probably looking at an Octura X-435. If it has the 3/16" shaft then you can take it up to an X-437.
With your measurements above, an X-432 is just a hair over but should be too small for that boat-engine combo. A weak stock electric motor will spin that.

good to hear clodbuster, reason why im asking is because i love the style of the boat, and my heart was set on the brushless version.but after reading lots of threads on low runtimes with nihm's,i thought i'd inquire about the nitro version.keep us updated with your mods and results.

I really appreciate the prop suggestions. I have to say I'm pretty satisfied with this guy, except the stock prop. Its not breaking any spped records and the stock radio does suck but its really fun and I feel that its totally worth the money.

CB, I can understand not liking the radio much. I've got one sitting in my junkpile of old TX's and hated the trim knobs. They're hard enough to use when your fingers are dry, much less wet or with fuel on your fingers.

The radio gets the job done, I didn't have any hits or lose control or anything, but its just one of those cheap rtr radios. NO FRILLS. You're right, the trim knobs are almost impossible to grasp. Mine came with the rudder reversed and Its pretty tough to switch that. But overall its not a big issue, it works and you can definitely have a good time with it. I had to get a couple extra composite props and I will order the X-435, I'm excited to run on sunday and tune it a little more. My bro just got a Miss Vegas, so it'll be fun to run those around together.

Sorry, no video today. I have to say I like this boat a lot but I HATE these composite "props." They seem to literally break in thin air. I have gone through 3 of them. If you get this boat, make sure you get a metal prop. I ordered the X-435 and cannot wait until it gets here.

Plastic props are nothing but trouble. After having a talk with then IMPBA Pesident Bill Zuber, they were outlawed for competition for any nitro powered boat and most electric classes. They can be brittle and subject to breakage at any time. I had one fall apart on my Super-Vee 27 Nitro while just pull-starting it! Overtightening the prop nut also places too much pressure on them breaking them at the mold lines.

What happens in the water when the RPM gets up there the plastic blades will twist before breaking.

Yea, they really suck, you're just going along and BAM! Prop broke, you're done. The blades just sheer right off. I also plan on adjusting the strut, the hull is riding a little too far in the water. She was running strong today, sounded awesome. I can't wait to make those adjustments. Its definitely a quick little boat. I'd feel comfortable suggesting this to you bigcam. You might as well get the metal prop when you get the boat though.

When adjusting the strut, make sure that you have a gap left between the drive dog and strut. Made that mistake once (OK, maybe more than once).

Thanks for the tip Ron Olson, I'll make sure to do that. I have to wait for the prop to get here before I do anything. Hobby shops around here don't have too much for boats. I'll let you all know how it goes.
