Default Aquacraft 18 backplate part #?

Looked through tower hobbies site and I found backplate for os 18tz and cvr. Which one do I need and what size belt would be appropriate?

When replacing the rear cover on the crank pin there is an extension on the tip that the pull starter index's into, that extension needs to be cut off so that the new blank cover can fit flush. the starter belt should be 9 to 12 " my son has a 9" and is a bit short. looks like the tz will work 21917000.

f41stryker, I have a OS 18 that was pull start and the back cover i used was [link]http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&W=001694829&I=LXGMN0&P=K[/link] the 18CVR it should work for you but you will also have to get a O ring for the cover
[link]http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&W=001694829&I=LXGMM9&P=K[/link] this is what i got and just use the O ring. And f16man is right you will have to cut or grind the pin down on your crankshaft Good luck

Any idea how much crankshaft I should remove or just take 1/16 off at a time?

On the end of the crank pin you will see that it is a bit smaller around than where the rod bearing rides, you will need to remove that part, be carefull not to harm the bearing surface when your are cutting, the steel is pretty hard so you will need to use a dremel or die grinder to remove the tip.

the engine isn't terribly compressed like the buggy engines I"m used to, hopefully the pull starter lasts a while for me before I make the switch.  thanks for all the help guys!
