i picked some boats and they have nitro fuel leaked in them the one is a wood hull it has taken the paint off the bottom
the other one is glass it also has the paint coming off bottom the wood hull i have sand it down because i was going to paint is but cant pant over the fuel so i am trying to it a clean so i can pant they both need to be re panted bottom and a 3rd one i just want it get cleaned before it gets to the pant thank you for any help you can give i can post pics at a latter time

I am going to lose my tunnle boat after this summer due to a fuel leak my fault for leaving fuel in it. but the best I have found is to use a good dish soap wash well and let dry for a few days at least

As long as the wood hasnt turned really soft almost a gel you should be able to clean and reseal.

cool its not soft at all . i cleaned it with some alcohol seem to be drying up nice .what do i need to seal it with epoxy ??

On a repair I use 30 min. epoxy and thin it with a little alcohol just thin enough to bush on. sounds like you goter made youll be in the water soon

its going to sometime before its back running it is all a part got 2 or 3 i am working right now still have to clean the leak in the nitro glass hull here a pic of my motor still need some cleaning need to find a turn fin for it too

use some simple green or purple power..Those stuff cleans up the fuel great!! What it if that nitro leaks on that glass and sitting on it,it will puke up that glass work too..and you may have to reglass that area because the nitro soften the glass work.

here are some pics of the glass hull its not soft just the pant is lifting off my other glass hull i clean it and its fine i end up buying used stuff all the time going to pick up 3 more on sat and 5 motor's but only keep one and 3 of the motors been wanting a hydro lol the rest will be for sale

i got it all sanded down and cleaned up now .have to fill and pant it

let me guess its a shockwave wuth a dynamite they are natorious for fuel leaks if im right i picked up a thundercat a few years back they have a reputation for fuel leaks change the fuel tank before you put fuel in it again DONT use a stock one they all have problems with the nipple on the bottom

its a formula fast tech i have a shock wave never and had any leaks i got this one used they had rip the fuel line off bottom of the tank
and left fuel in the tank i don't leave the fuel tanks in my boast when i am not running them

ouch ive been running a .32 for a couple years with no problems have about 7 to 10 gallons of fuel through it still running strong ive had a couple proboat and they all had fuel leaks and it all came from bad fuel tanks
