.15 SK Daddle Jr.
This project started out as a Dumas sk daddle jr. I just can’t build anything stock and really don't want what everyone else has, so this is what I ended up with. I fiberglass reinforced the transom, 1/4” ply engine rails and misc parts here and there. Next I crammed in a .15 with a 4 oz. tank and a surface drive. The sealed radio compartment has two standard size servos, receiver and battery pack. It CG’s right a 33%. I hope this doesn’t turn out to be a complete failure, but time will tell. I plan to get it in the water this weekend.
Thanks for looking,
Ryan

It's a little excessive, but I'm a firm believer that if it fits, it belongs there. I pretty sure it's not going to be stable at WOT and I'm ok with that. I just wanted something different to fool around with that you don't see everyday. My Springer tug is charged up and ready to retrieve, because well.....I'm sure I'll need it.

hello, i was wondering what hardware you used on that boat. i modified a set of plans back before christmass, plans for the same boat.
any ways. the boat ended up pretty good and its worthy of a nice surface drive.. so i was wondering where you got yours

I bought the surface drive and rudder from offshoreelectric.com. The stinger is for an AquaCraft SuperVee 27 and the rudder is a "mini" size from their site. I still haven't had it in the water yet, I've been working like crazy.. I have the next two days off, hopefully the weather cooperates. I want to get this in the water bad.
Let's see some pics of your boat.

RE: .15 SK Daddle Jr.
ha-ha, i plan on posting some soon. i get the power plant in hopefully Friday, and after that im still lacking alot of hardware,
mine is still nude (no paint, no epoxy, just ca on the joints) and i moded the plans making the entire boat out of 1/8th in balsa sheet, im going to epoxy the joints tomorrow and hopfully get a top on it.
mine probably wont look as good as yours, (first scratch build) but ive got some pics of the original power plant i planed on using. now im chaging to using a go .18 scince im wanting water cooled and its rear exhaust.
full mod traxxas pro .15, port, polish, portmatched header, smoothed carb, hand cut head from stock, hand polished case exterior (header, and carb) i love that little motor

RE: .15 SK Daddle Jr.
Well this morning I finally got a chance to get this in the water. "A handful" is an understatement. This boat has lots of power. I couldn't even run WOT, when I tried to you could see the whole bottom of the boat. It rode on the prop and rudder. I started off with the strut angled down as far as it would go. I didn't realize how much it would try and push the boat out of the water. I don't know why but I didn't take any tools with me today, but next time out I'm going to mess around with the strut angle and see if I can't get it to level out. This turned out to be a great project and a blast to drive!

Yeah I also saw that you had the prop way out back too! And it still wanted to fly! Sounds like fun!
A .15 might be a bit too much to handle for this small of a boat as it was intended for a Cox .049, which really belongs in a C/L plane that a boat. Would youconsider dropping in a slightly smaller engine such asa .10-.12?
