Craig, Great news on the Island reduction!! Did you put any plastic under the bags...or are the bags heavy plastic themselves? I picture them freezing and breaking apart when you try to drag them off the island top. This weather has been good enough to run. Did you run at all over the weekend, or is the pond too low now? Roger
The bags are very durable. The weather has been good and I would be running if I hadn't dropped the pond level. Too bad. But I needed to for the excavator. Hopefully he will be digging soon. I am anxious to see what he can get done in 2 days....

You could surely run on the pond, but allot of weeds are showing on the north side and everything is more narrow now. The level is down 2.5 feet. Once the snow melts in the spring it will be back up in no time.

Craig, Thanks for the pond update. I have pretty much winterized everything I ran over the last several weeks...shafts out & cleaned...engines oiled...and placed out of sight of the bride. I've started to go through each boat to fix any issues like servo linkages and radio box integrity. The JAE .12 rigger's OS .12 is on the bench getting a new rod fitted and the timing measured. Over the next several weeks the Gas Cat(s), Mono, and Sport Hydro will be getting fresh rings and hull fixes where needed. New builds intended for next season include a Phil Thomas Sport 20 Hydro (new to me!!) and a new Seaducer Gas Cat that I bought from Walt K. earlier in the year. If I finish that, I will then have three Gas Cats. At least one of them has to go bye bye. If I get really into it this winter I may try to finish an eigth scale Miller American that's all ready except for paint and decals. Roger

Hi Guys,

What do Ineed to do to light a fire under Tommy to get the JAE 12 Boat Kit that we just bought from Neal from the hall floor (that the cat is guarding), to his workshop to start the bulidng process. At this rate, it will be 2013 before it hits the water.

You guys really need to build some boats that look like boats. Here's my latest shot of a scale Executone sponson that I'm working on. There can't be anything worse than having to build up a chine from multiple pieces of stick stock and ply to get it right The nice part about that is that I have it done enough to put on the first two skin pieces

Hi Cindy,

Not sure, but the winter can go fast. One minute, you think you have all the time in the world to get the boat done. The next minute, you are struggling to get it ready for the first race.... [X(]

HJ, Here is where you and your wife could stay if you come and visit. It's 1200 feet from our pond!

DAMN IT CRAIG, the wife saw that web site and is seriously interested. If we make it there, it would be the last week of June, 2015 as things stand now

I've been meaning to stay the night. BUT I get a free bed at Props house. The top of the .45 Zip is going down today.
HJ I'm still building not much to look at making a box. Rigger's are easy. I still want to build a gas thunderboat. I got too many hulls to run now.

Now see, that's why you need to build sport boats, they don't look like much beyond sticks and some plywood scraps for a long time and then, BOOM!!!!!!!, YOU HAVE A BOAT HULL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The next step is to install hardware, paint and go run

I know what you are saying, but my JAE 21 is so much fun to drive, I could care less what it looks like. I suspect the JAE 45, will be even more fun. [8D]

Neil, What am I looking at in your pic above? Is that the bottom of the tub on the .45? If so, is that a center ski and only a left rear sponson (or ski)?? Roger

Roger what you see is a .45 Short kit ski on a gas rigger hull. The skinny one was a experiment, that not going down. The skinny one is cut in 1/2 from my gas rigger. I seen that on Joe's hull and was doing the same, until he said it didn't work out. And not to use. The 45 ski has a different angle, than the gas ski. Not much but some. 1 degree or so.

Sure! I'll be home most likely, making sure I get my money's worth. This job is by the hour.

You guys know anyone looking for a nitro heli? I have a 95% complete Thunder Tiger Raptor 30 V1 I'm looking to unload. All new parts including a Futaba 7C FASST radio and never started O.S. .37 engine. I started building this 3 years ago before I got back into rc boats and I don't see myself finishing it any time soon.

It's my AC Model Nitro Cat. I was going to put twin .21's in it, but I think it will be too slow. It's a bigger hull than I thought it would be. 36" long but seems bulky and heavy. So I'm waiting for money and time to put twin .45's in it. Maybe twin .45 outboards. [X(]

Schedule change, now they are digging Monday and Tuesday. I hope they bring a big one, they are suppose to. I saw a huge excavator being trailered on the way to work this afternoon. Funny how I am always looking at the different digging equipment out there ever since I started the pond project 3 years ago.

Nitro CAT!!! Man that is one funny camera angle! I can just make out the left sponson in the deck line, but the way the shadows fall it is difficult to see the sponson separation. Good luck on the 'DIG'!! Neil needs ALL the room he can get!!! Roger.

We're going to have some FAST boats on Stony Pond next year!

My Novarossi .45 is ordered. So is my 'Lights' O/B crank for my NR .21 5-port. I received my JAE 45 and JAE 21 kits from Joe yesterday. I'm gonna build a spare JAE .21 hull, just in case. So I'm done spending money for the time being.

Thanks Roger, My driving has come along way since I first met you. I tried to do plenty of homework. My RC truck days are on tap. I been building so the truck sets. Last night was a race night I didn't go. I also have a new track to run on. One of my friends opened up a track near the Big mall in Syr.
Twins who's going to top that!!!!
PS I fired up the rebuilt .67 and I need one more hand. I need a finger in the carb. It turned over OK I got one little start, then stall. She will be OK
