Congrats Pete!!

My Novarossi powered Vision Craft should be a contender in the 20 mod tunnel class this year.

I'll be checking base line speeds with the O.S. before converting over to NR power.

I plan to run 12 rigger, open rigger, and 20 mod tunnel at Elmira this year....

Roger, you going to run 20 Mod Tunnel this year for Hi-Points?

I forgot I have a stop watch. Their was a chart for your speed between buoy 4 & 5 ,all calculated I think it was TEHedOFF that had the chart.

Craig, I usually cannot commit to enough races to race for points. My cottage rentals and weekend use soak up most of my summer weekends.

FYI...I did make it to the Winternats for the last 4-5 heats...mostly gassers running offshore and the open twin rigger class. I saw first hand the size iof the chop after 6-7 boats made a couple of laps. That confirmed what Pete Forcier said...that you really could not race when 8 boats were running because the water was too rough. Pretty much you had to drive at part throttle if you wanted to finish the heat.

I missed Joe and Dick...they had already left for NY.

I also missed Dan Hutchinson and a chance to see the Cobra 2 in action. I talked to John Otto and he said it looked much better than the original hull. Dan won a couple of heats with it but had several DNF's because of the water and engine woes. I sent him the money for the boat he ran over the weekend. That makes four .21 size tunnels in my fleet. I have no idea on what motor I'll use. For now I'm concentrating on the TS3 with my OS piped motor on it. Roger C.

Gassertom...or anyone else...I picked up a couple of lightly used 'B6' chargers in a brushless car motor/battery deal. They have LiPo and LiFe settings. I'd like $40 plus $5 if shipping is needed. They used to go for $59-$79 on Ebay. I can send a pic next week when I get back to NY if anyone is interested. Roger C.

I checked the link provided. It says: I am posting the top 6 racers that made it into the shootout and have posted some of the places that I remember or have found in the Winter Nats thread. If anyone knows for sure how someone finished in the heats please let me know and I will enter it in this post.

I do not see actual places listed for P-tunnel. At least Pete made it into the top 6 shootout. I think we will have to see some 'official' posting before we know who got the trophies. I checked NAMBA and Orlando Culvert Dodgers, but neither have anything official posted. RC

They made it to the Shootout and didn't have final standings for FE Tunnel. That actually shows me anyone could have won that heat. Neil, where did your info come from?

I called Pete He gave me his cell with the 3 .12 rigger build.
He also said their may be 2 winners as their was a mix up in scoring. How I have no ideal Just the same he's a winner. In my book
But I also want to beat him this season. While I'm still young.

Guys,

The ice has melted mostly on Stony Pond, so we are going to try moving the dirt to shore on a row boat this Saturday starting at 10:00am. Bob, Prop Circles is coming. Anyone else that wants to help let me know.

I am pretty sure we will not get a hard freeze this year, so I figure this is the only way...

Thanks.

Cool. Bob's bringing his jon boat, should be easier to pull on shore and unload bags of dirt.

There is a unfrozen area on the east side of the island, so we are good to go. I'll let you know if it decides to freeze over, but I don't see that happening. The spring is still flowing pretty good.

I'm still hoping that we can get on the pond to take timing light measurements late February, but I doubt it will ever be thick enough for moving heavy weights accross the ice.

I haven't been working on the JAE 45 these past few days. I've been working on the timing system console. It's going well so far. I'll post pictures and maybe video of some bench runs with it. I need to get my son Karl (10 years old) in the hobby room and teach him about soldering, wiring, relays, and such....

Craig, I will not get back from FL until Sunday night. Just make sure everyone on the water wears a vest and you have some ropes around to toss to anyone if they fall in. Be safe!! Roger

With all the new video having a camcorder at the start. That would eliminate the human factor. downloaded onto a laptop to CK a close call. As we were all asked by Pete and Bill to help out and learn to becoming a judge. only a few can sit on the starting line. If I'm to the left or right I may see it different than the other judge. Were taking the start of the race. And to CK lap count. cutting a buoy should be seen by all.

Neil, way to go. The more eyes we have the better. Makes for fair racing. When I CD, I stand looking down the rope to the clock. Anyone that crosses before ZERO is over no matter who you are. I personally do not lag and push the clock. I'd rather hit the start at full power, especially in gas hydro. Building a 51" Microburst for gas mono this year.

good to know Bill as the start is the most important part of the race. That's a good class as Bob is going into a gas Vee this season as well. Gotta be a blast. The hull is a Mountain Hobby hull on Jim's I think the size is a little long. 55" I may just trade The construction is great the guy does a good job. I wish the opening were a little longer as the CoG is at that raised section on the hull the low spot is for the pull start, or go with a geaser wheel . I think the 45" Malabo would be better.
PS I'mtired Vee hull's are just plane fun, easy to drive.

Neil, that was quite the work out today. I'd say we moved over 5,000 lbs of dirt off the island. I am beat too.

Thanks Bob and Neil! I wouldn't be able to do it by myself.

When the water comes up completely this spring, no more island!

P.S. What the hell is up with RCU, very slow this past 2 weeks.... [] Neil and I have both noticed, anyone else?

I've noticed the silence as well. Seems like the only threads that are getting any action are this one, the Circus build and my Pak thread, though the Pak thread is mostly non-Pak conversations lately. I guess I need to get the Paks all done and start a new thread on building the Executone so people can see there isn't really that much difference between the sport 20, 40 and scale hulls other than size
