Roger,
It sounds like Rick is considering converting a tunnel. If so the cats are generally set at 32% to 34% CG depending on the power. Personally, I would go with roughly 32% and add bow weight if necessary. The more power, the further forward the CG. This helps if you start out with a milder motor and then decide to step up.

Nope, Rick has a O/B mono from years ago! Looks cool running on the water, but hard to get the handling optimized....

yup, ihave a scratch built mono from RCM Magazine plans with a 7.5 K&B outboard on it.. like to put the engine on a tunnel... probably a vintage HOT-SHOT... and convert the mono to inboard... the hull is a ''Ski Vee 40 drawn by Fred Reese it is40'' long and 12 1/2'' wide, constructed of 1/8'' balsa with 6 oz.cloth and resin... plans say 8lbs... i have i PICCO .67 and a brand new OPS.45... kinda still interested in riggers and hydros.... like a big rigger for the .67.. and kinda like ''old school stuff... yup i am wierd!!! what time yall going to pond thursday??? giong to have this old rigger i [picked up ready by then if i have to stay up 2 days straight!!!lol.......[img][/img]
Send Neil a PM for Thursday's running. I get home at 5:30, but I think Neil and Bob are showing up early for some final testing before the Ottawa race. I'll test a little in Ottawa on Friday just to confirm needle settings. Ottawa is at 250 feet, we are at 750 feet elevation.

Rick, My son and I usually get to the pond around 6PM on Thursdays. I am not sure what I'll have to throw into the water. Most likely it will be a gas mono and maybe a.67 mono or a .67 tunnel. Roger

Neil, after we pick you up, we're stopping off at the Super Walmart in Central Square to pick up any groceries we need. There should be plenty of room in the frig for 2 days of camping.

Bench run your NR a little if you get the chance. Have faith, she'll run good!

my .21CMB has detonation on the piston head & headbutton. My headbutton had no spacer. my fault.
Not real bad but enough. the top of the piston wasn't dark, like sand blasted. I don't see anything wrong inside case piston/crank bearings. My 2nd .21 green-head came today. used but very nice inside. from Ron Shaw. All ready broken in. Looks like the 35+ is going back in the box. I will bring it with me just in case.

Good plan, plenty of room in Bob's trailer for a spare .21 nitro engine.

After looking close inside I may have a rear bearing going.

Another good outing at Stony Pond last night. My son Tom managed to not collect any buoys!! His driving was excellent last night. It was good to see Charlie and Rick running. Rick's .21 rigger was running pretty well for the first time out. Rick...I think I saw you shooting some videos last night. If you have any of my Gas Sport Hydro, can you send me a copy...or let me know if you post them somewhere. I'll send u a pm with my email. Thanks, Roger

Hey Rick, I couldn't help but notice that you are really interested in "Nitro-Riggers"? Just a heads up, my brother Bill has two nitro-riggers that I think he'd sell. They are a 45 and a 67 and both are very fast boats. All the best equiptment. We went to running strictly gas boats.
Let me know if you are interested, we'll be at Brick Pond, Elmira Sept. 8th and 9th for the "Shootout" and could bring the boats, if there is an interest. Thanks, Walt

Rick,
Hurt my knee somehow - won't be able to make it to the pond Saturday.  Hope it's improved enough to make it out there on Monday.
Anyone going to be there that could help launch the riggers on Monday?

GO STONEY POND BOAT CLUB!!! hope all you guys are having fun in the great white north!!! kick some butt and bring back some trophies!!! i went to pond on saturday and kept it company before going to "family picnic" at flying field.... without family!!lol... ran 2 more tanks of fuel thru the rigger, hey roger, i raised the strut and it helped!! i raised it some more and got it pretty good.. i do notice that as tank runs low that it is less choppy also... if i put battery farther back would that help??? thaanks for your advise, i can hit turns at full throttle now and only skip a bit.. beginning of turn a bit rough but hooks real good coming out.. any ideas??? thanks again..

Rick - knee is still bothering me, dependent on how it feels tomorrow, we may go to the pond early, will make that decision in the morning. - have to leave by noon though, if we do go.

Hope the Stony Pond Team did well in Ottawa - post the results when you get a chance.
