rudder servo
Do I really need A 1/4 scale servo on my .90 outrigger? Can I get away with a 240oz standard metal gear servo. Is there any advantage to the 1/4 scale over the standard.

RE: rudder servo
The 1/4 scale servos are beefier but at the same time, I think in a rigger you should be concerned with weight as well. Either will work, so it's your call as to which you would prefer to use.

RE: rudder servo
some gas guys run standard size rudder servos over 1/4 scales not sure of the numbers though but seems to work fine, any route I would avoid plastic gears either use composite or metal

RE: rudder servo
On my gas boats I run a hi torque metal geared standard servo. The Ace 1015 is a good option. I only have 2 boats running 1/4 scale servos, I prefer the smaller ones. The 1/4 scale are cheaper for the same torque though.
