brand new unstarted kits?
brand new unstarted kits?
Go for it, Id be curious to see how much is offered. I would put a reserve on it of what you paid for it so you're not out anything in the end.
yeah good idea!
Thats what i would do. maybe offer a "buy it now" price or best offer. ya never know sometimes. I got $300 bux once for a Dumas Sport 40 & just about nothing for another.
look into ebay and their fees, listing fee, selling fees and paypals fee. I think I would be better off and just lower my price on here. Hydro if you want it you can have it for $275.00
As much as I'd like to take it, I have too many projects already and have to come up with book money and tuition for classes that start on Tuesday[:o]
ok no problem, well if you know of anyone send them my way.
I'm to the point now on my circus circus, that I need to lay out my plumbing and hardware before I sheet the top decks on. I really need to know a good strut to use, and should I use 1/4 in. shaft or 3/16, should I use dumas's stuffing box with the teflon tube, or maybe 1/4 with a 3/16 step down, and also what do you all think of aeromarine's vibration motor mount vs like a steve muck. thanks
Almost all of the boats that I have seen in Washington use a 1/4" flex drive and either a step down stub or, like in my case, a ferrule securing a 3/16" stub shaft. As for the teflon tube, there are mixed opinions on that, some use and some don't. I know many of the engines have been fitted with a square drive collet so there is no need to tighten down the assembly every time the shaft or engine is removed. Here are some pictures of my boat's set up
what about the motor mount, do you like the aeromarine motor mount or a more solid steve muck type mount
oh and buy the way I will let my miller american go for $225.00, so put the word out for me hydro. Need the extra money to buy hardware for my circus circus
I haven't used either so I can't really say. I've used Octura extruded mounts in some boats, the supplied block and flat aluminum plate in the two Dumas kits I've built and the one pictured has a Speedmaster rubber mount in it as that's what the boat had when I bought it. I know the two Dumas Pak based sport 20 hulls I'm working on now will most likely have Mike Hughes engine mounts installed in them since they are fastened through the bottom of the hull rather than through the engine bay walls or the solid block and aluminum plate mount shown in the kit plans and instructions to save weight and make repairs(when needed) easier
I'm going to list my new dumas miller american and a brand new K&B 11cc inboard that has never been ran or even mounted here in the for sale section. I was going to do a package deal for both for $425.00, you think that would be a good deal?
That's more than fair, considering I bought one of my K&B 11's NIB for $200 somewhere back 15-20 years ago and it's still sitting NIB waiting to be used[:@]
I'm thinking of buying an epoxy or composite boat, do you know of any body who sells them and are good ?
is RC Boat Company boats any good?
Phil Thomas Hydros are good!
Here is a link. Thought Phil had his own website, but maybe it's through Me-Time now...
I have a Miller americal already built, soloid as a rock, I was going to repaint is to its fullglory, as the paint i give a 7 1/2 of a 10, fully rigged and I believe a 67 knb in it, as well as I have a Picco .90 with billet mount, motor has not been fully broke in, I took it in on trade , I do not run nitro, let it all go for 550.00 boat complete, and Picco .90
Hey all I have a quick question: when assembling the frames I am seeing 5A in the drawings, but it does not say to install it in the directions what did you all do?
frames 5 and 6 are laminated together before assembly. 5B is also added to it before it is assembled to the cockpit sides and the sponson inside.
hey caliber I'm going to get you my videos put on dvd and I will send you a free copy. They are the dumas videos that take you through the whole build step by step of the circus circus. Give me a week to get copies made ok. But only if you want them.
Brian I would definately love to get them if you dont mind making them. I am in the process of putting on the turn fin and it says in the instructions to use fig 9 and the frame is shown on frame 6 but it does not sayanything about glueing 5A to frame 6 before putting holes in frame 6 for the turn fin. I really wish Dumas would make these instructions clear so that I would not have to trouble you guys for your help. Well thanks for all your help.</p>
Hey when you were drilling your holes for the canard spar in the sponson insides did you use the size recommended in the instructions or did you use a different size? The reason I ask is this, when I put my boat on the jig and tried to do a dry assembly I first assemble the sponson insides with frames 4-11 and then I put on the cockpit sides which when I do it seems pretty level and looks square, but then I try to put it on the jig and slide in the canard spar and things get out of whack. I used the center punched marks on the frames and still it isnt sitting correctly. would it be that big of a deal if I made the holes on the sponson insides a bit bigger?
they should be a bit larger so you can pull the nose together when you put in the cockpit floor.
