Default Great Planes Patriot

This is my first plane with retracts and I need to know if this is normal or if I need to adjust Cg or something else. With the wheels down it just needs a couple clicks of up to be hands off. As soon as I retract the gear the plane climbs hard, I understand that there is drag with the gear down but is there something I can adjust so I dont have to change trims so much when flying?

In my experience, retracts up or down should not affect your CG.

Try setting the C/G with the retracts up, that is usually what the instructions on retract models suggest.

If it really climbs hard, check to see that you don't have some elevator mixed into the retract channel.
