Default LOOKING FOR THE NAME OF ANOTHER OLD PLANE

Like AHICKS I too am looking for the name or picture of an old high wing plane from the mid to late 70's. The wing is around80 inches and 32 inches wide. It is setup like a Cub but it's not a cub. Itis a 60 to 90 size tail dragger. I thought it was a Gazariator by MidWest but thats not big enough. It had a split elevator and a big rudder.

A friend of mine had it in the 70's but he has passed on so I can't ask him. This plane would fly so slow that in a light wind it would fly backward, so to speak. We would fly it at half throttle for like 40 min at a time. I would like to put a camra on it as it is very stable.

If you can help please do and thanks

rick

Could be a Telemaster.

Could be a Telemaster.
Not with a 32" chord and 80" WS.

Well, you are right bubba, but I guess I was wondering if the 32" chord part was a typo....that's a HUGE chord and I think we'd all remember it. Without a pic it's hard to tell.

Soft landings,

Joe

The only ones I can come up with right now are the Multiplex Big Lift and the Pilot Big Rainbow.
Not sure if either were made in the late 70's.

SOLVED IT

I found one of the guys we used to fly with and the reason I could not find this one is that is was a crashed and rebuilt Gazariator. He took parts from another plane and rebuilt them together. It had windows from a CUB, that where added after the crash. He took the nose gear off, moved the main gear forward and added the tail wheel. The wing looked so wide because he made the ailerons wider and added flaps.

I thank you fellow fliers for your time and effort on this one.

Here is a pic I found on the net. Don't recall this kit from "back when".

Gazariator is basically just a larger version of the Fledgling trainer.
