Default H9 P-51 ARF .40 sized

Been flying mine on an Evolution 60 and (with retract and flaps) is one of the nicest flying birds I ever had - GREAT sport plane! Consider one if you want a good all-around good flying bird.

Thanks for the report Tailskid! I too actually picked up a brand new MKII for a steal this winter, sold the radio and engine and am currently testing a new GMS .47 vs a new ASP .52. Haven't gotten any anything done on the ASP, but I tested the GMS, tore it down, fully modified the sleeve, crank, timing, and fully sealed it and re-tested. Turning a 10x7 at way over 15,300 now. Can't wait to try the ASP to compare! I'll post results on the thread I started in the glow forum.

How is the plane all around? I totally went through mine, strengthened a few areas, re-epoxied a few places, added flap servos, built a123 pack for it, swapped to an HD MPI charge jack switch, ironed out all the wrinkles, waxed it, and put on smaller aluminum scale looking wheels. Still awaiting a new cowl for it for the engine. Any other mods worth doing that you've found? I also z-bent the throttle linkage wire as it binds a lot in stock configuration.

How is the EVO 60 on it? I debated that engine as well. Post up a video if you get a chance!

Ihave the .60 evo as well. It seems much faster than the .46 which Ithought flew okay. At full throttle it really cooks. Ialso have Robart retractable landing gear which was kind of pricey but works well. I used Robart scale wheels but they don't really show up. Only mods I have made are left over decals from that came with my Top Flite GS p-51. Just had to do something with them. The plane is a little light in the rear on the ground so Igave it more throw on the elevator. Ibalanced it but may add a little nose weight as well. I would like it to fly a little heavier in wind. My buddy says the plane flys like a "pup".

I can't really think of any mods to make. You could add guns and an antenna but this isn't a scale model anyway. I may change the lettering and some of the covering to distinguish it from others.

Egan Everyone who has flown this plane LOVES it.....relatively fast with the .60, but not too fast. I fly at high rates all the time and there is hardly ANY balloning when flaps are deployed. Landing with or w/0 flaps are a breeze. All around this is the best .40 I've flown in quite some time!

I just about finished my Mustang last night. Still testing engines/setups (GMS .47 vs ASP .52).

I setup flaps last night on my DX6i and then realized I could do more fun things with it. So I now have full CROW on one switch and full wing flaps/flaperons on another.

Can't wait to fly this bird friday!

Hopefully I'll be flying mine Saturday and Sunday. I need to get brave with it. Going from the .46 to the .60 it seems like it really covers ground fast and I use a lot of real estate. When I go from this to the Parkzone Corsair, the Corsair is so easy to fly. Iwant to see if I can do a good knife edge with this plane.

Been flying mine for over a month now and it is getting better and better every flight. Almost lost it two weekends ago when I forgot to tighten the left wing hold down bolt Wing panel fell OFF when it landed - wow, that was close!!!

Digital Sub-Micro servos for throttle control.

My P-51 Sport 40 has been ordered and I have a couple of Spektrum DSP75 servos and thought that one might work nicely for the throttle. They have 19oz-in torque and .11sec/60 deg response rate so they really should be up to the job.

Has anyone ever used one of these ... or can think of any good reasons not to!!
