Default 100" Big Stik-two piece wing.

I've just converted the 100" Big Stik plans from Model Builder to a two piece wing.

Excellent, and a few more revealing pics would be great too.

Nice! You should bring it to show and tell at Paul's on Oct 8. We're having another shot at a pylon race that day. No prizes, no major rules: pretty much any "40 size" plane with any "40 class" engine. I expect everything from 40LA to 55AX bolted onto World Models Sky Raiders.

Bob,
Any chance you can help me with my build please? Seem to be some discrepancies in the plans in some areas to me. eg the plan view and the side elevation of bulkhead/former 2 dont match - one has some small 1/4 ply in front of the former, the other has it behind. My cut ply (from a local guy in Oz) includes a piece of 1/8 ply that fits the area of the floor of the tank compartment, but its not shown on the plans anywhere, and it can only fit ON TOP of the 1/4 sq spruce stringers on the bottom, as its full width.
I really wish i had some real build notes with this one - you dont have anything do you ?

Have you built your wing flat, no dihedral ? Any flying effects noticeable if so ?

thanks
jp

When comparing the wing to that of an Ultra Stick Lite (somewhat smaller), the USL uses aft spars (four spars). Perhaps the USL was overbuilt or they used four spars to deal with crow where larger ailerons and flaps are presenting mid wing panel forces that would tend to twist the panel and cause wash in. It doesn't appear that you are setting your stick up for crow, so my comment is really addressed to those who might build this model with a crow setup... should the wing have aft spars if using a crow setup?

Bob, nice work, great plane and I like the two piece wing. With a 16 X 8 prop what did you do for a engine 20cc DLE or a 30cc?.

I'm bashing a Tiger 60 and it's geting a DLE 20 in it with a two piece 74" wing. I like to see others doing this besides it's fun to bash some and the Tiger is a good one to do it to.

PS they are plug in.
