Default Super 4-star Sportster transformation.

I bought this Sig Four Star 40 from Craig's List. It was all White with two Florescent Orange stripes on the wing.
I had a plan for this plain looking plane; make it look cool like a Super Sportster!
I cut a rib bay off of the wing on each side and added 1/2 tear drop wing tips.
I enlarged the tail feathers and changed their shape to a rounded off style.
i have never liked the Canopy and how far back the cockpit is so I moved the turtledeck forward about two inches and recut that stupid looking Canopy to a much better looking shape.
I would like to have removed the cheeks and enclosed the nose around the engine but that would have added a lot of weight so I left it alone. I reinforced the landing gear area and the area behind where the wing bolts on.
I also would like to have added Wheel covers but that may
come later.
I borrowed a trim scheme that I saw here for a Super Sportster.
For power I installed an HB .50 that was in the shop.
Im very happy with the results!
It looks SOO much better now!

Default It flys great!

I took the Super Four Star out for the first time today and it flys fantastic!!! It gets off the ground quick and is capable of some good aerobatics! Knife edge was pretty good. Inverted flight is nearly hands off. Vertical climb is impressive and of course landings are oh so smooth. It flys great slow and fast!
I knew when I got this plane that it would be a great flying airplane. Very solid and sturdy but still light.
The only change I want to make is wider ailerons.
I now have another favorite plane in my hanger!

Can't go wrong with that! The HB 50 is a good engine too.

Default 4 star

Looks like you did a wonderful job. Great colors and good looking plane. You can not go wrong with any size 4 Star plane, they all fly very well. Keep up good work.
