Thought folks might be interested in a thread where they can post random photos of their building or flying. Maintaining a build thread takes time so if you just want to throw a photo out there, do it here!

Here is a photo of my Craft Air Mystique slowly coming to life. Power will be a Como 40 in keeping with the age this kit was (almost!) popular. Span is 65 inches after I added built-up rounded wing tips and got rid of the heavy balsa block that was supplied. It has a fully symmetrical wing so it should be a fun and easy flyer.

Cool, Here's mine a Aeromaster couldn't afford a kit if I could find one so scratch built it and since I have experience molding made plugs and molded the canopy
and cowl as I will the wheel pants. Just a few more things to get done then cover and give it a maiden by I hope end of summer. I have a couple to maiden
before this and only have so much radio gear. Hey, like the color choice you have here's my Sportster

Nice projects! Yeah, that blue and yellow is familiar! I am putting yellow stripes on my wings as well. Hopefully have the servo tray installed in a few days and the engine hung. The Mystique has to be my slowest project of all time.

I need to get out and fly more thats my NYR...I have another project though its a HOB T6 w/ OS15 gonna get in some air time first

Got the engine hung and all the control cables and rods in place. The engine cowling is a bolt-on which I have yet to build, and it will have to go around that famous Italian carb which so many rave about. I fly off a nice grass runway so 3.5 inch mains and a 3 inch nose wheel on a Fults nose gear makes touch and go's possible.

thailazer, not many build anymore....we are are dyeing breed...........I'm gonna see about some videos of my maiden flights. The curmudgeons at the field are more into (spit) electrics we'll see.

That does indeed seem to be true. I have a couple of scratch projects planned but some of the current ARF offerings offer some incredible savings. I have built and flown several Carl Goldberg Tigers as they are so well behaved and capable. Now Phoenix Models has copies of it in two sizes that cost less than the kit and get you in the air in a fraction of the time of the build. I have gone that route on those planes, but I do still like to build things that are a bit unique.

With the cost of one ARF I can build close to 3- 40 size planes if I have the plans.And since I like flying bipes its a big savings

The old Mystique kit came with balsa blocks for the wing tips, but I built them up instead and decided to hollow out the blocks and use them as engine cheek cowls. Gives the plane a bit of a funky old-time look!

I have always like the dark blue and yellow as it keeps the plane from cloaking on overcast days, and on sunny days, those yellow stripes really show up. Here are a few planes from my archives. The black plane is a Craft Air Scout that taught me how to do touch and go's!

yea a distorted old time look....too large for cowl blisters I'd say...haha!

I haven't found good colors for those overcast days...just have to pay attention to flight attitude

I will add a picture of the day, how about a backward airplane? Well, not actually backward but a canard is sort of a backward flying machine.

This is a foam version of the Canard Stick. I have a GForce .32 with a 4s 4200mah battery 60 amp ESC with a 10x7 3 bladed prop. It looks very strange in the air and the sound of the 3 blade makes it "SOUND" like it is screaming. I went 3 blade to get a little more clearance for the prop to the ground. If I need more power, I can actually step up to a 5s and run a 10x6 3 bladed prop. But it flys just fine. it will end up with a camera, flight control with GPS, video Tx's. As this is a SUPER stable plane, I thought it would be a good one to use for some filming and FPV.

Humm I thought canard was short for canhardly fly....very nice and good work on the utility

That does look like a practical plane. Hmmmm, maybe we need to make this thread Photo or Video of the Day as I would like to see (and hear) the canard fly.

Flying it is very strange. As this is my first canard, there is a spot in the turn where I see the stab, canard first and start to loose orientation. Then I see the wing and have to remember it is a backwards plane. I thought for sure it was going to go down the runway, just as it starts to lift off, it was going to explode into a cloud of foam and tape. It is actually a very stable plane. I mean it just flew around like it knew what to do.

Does have a higher landing speed, but I am going to play with the CofG and see if I can slow it down a bit. I have it balanced at the forward mark. Move it back a bit and see if I can hold the nose up a bit more. I will add some red, orange, black colored packing tape so I can see it better.

Ran the engine today. Some more break in and it will be time to fly it. Should be a fun flyer with that thick symmetrical wing.

can't wait for the report or video....personally I just fly a new motor in, run alittle rich is all. Of course I do bench run everything before it gets commissioned.

Getting started on a Phoneix Models Tiger 3 ARF. I put glass and EZ Poxy on the firewall as the wood is quite soft.

can get more airtime than that...

I am not much of a winter flyer so it will be a while before I get up in the air again. Heck, it was 7 lovely degrees this morning! I love the building and puttering in the winter season so it all ties together! We usually have a beautiful spring, summer, and fall out here so I try to be outside then as much as possible.

I flew yesterday in Ohio, maidened my latest project, a Sig Kougar. I had to stop flying due to the cold and wind, my eyes were watering. I love Ohio....but hate the winters.

Drove out to the flying field this morning and the parking lot is still under ice and snow. Looks like a few weeks of spring weather needed!
