hey guy's I am new to this forum, and after a very long hiatis (kids, college, automobiles and so forth) I'm back trying to get in the air again.Just to get my feet wet I purchased a sig mid star-40 kit. Is this a good kit just to get back going again?

It should be a simple build to get your feet wet, and not too difficult to fly.
We're here for building advice, but make sure that you contact a local club to get assistance with getting you back into the air.
Glad that you have returned to the hobby. !

+ 1 on what Tom c said. but you did not say what kind of radio gear you are planning, So if new and if your budget will handle it and all of the new tech stuff I would recommend at least 10 chnl as that would support you for the next few years.
