RE: In your opinion what is the best sport plane
I have had two Super Sportster 90-120s and flew them for many years. Even better is the Ultrasport 1000, probably the most underappreciated model ever produced. There is a lot of shaping and sanding to be done, and that must put people off. But it's worth the time; you get a model that comes out straight and true and flies like a dream. It's no longer manufactured, but there are some on hobby shop shelves and swap meets. (I have a Moki 120 in mine.)

Right now the Pulse is my favorite, but variations of the old Ugly Stick can't be beaten. I've got Mini Ultra Sticks and ultra Stick 25Es in electric, and an OS46AX powered Ultra Stick 40. Right now they are a little bit out of favor because I'm having so much fun with my Pulses, but they are pretty much my old standbys and have been for over 30 years.
My Mini Pulse has an E Flite 480 in it, and it's a little rocket. The accdeleration is mind bending and it's nearly as aerobatic as a Mini Ultra stick. The big nitro Pulse is very stable and forgiving. It really smooth and completely different from the big ultra stick. With this in mind, it's kind of surprising that the Mini Pulse and Mini Ultra are so similar, but I love them all.

RE: In your opinion what is the best sport plane
...As my handle implies, I prefer the Hobby Shack Super Sport Trainer series. I have 1/2A, .09, .25 & .40 sizes, and am building an 8-foot span version as well as a negative-stagger bipe based on the 1/2A size. My flying buddy MikeSell has an 80" version nearly done, and another .25 size in the box. And don't let the 'trainer' part fool you, as it's fully areobatic, especially if built with 1/2 the dihedral removed. Flies better than a stick, and looks sharp too...

Hi
I really enjoy flying the gangster .52's pictured.
But i think my favourite plane was my slightly modified (lightened) Peter Melnik Tumbling dice which although i flew for many years before it crashed due to a broken battery lead, i don't seem to have any piccies of.

Super Hots - Hands down my all time favorite and will always be as long as I have kits on the shelf.
Something Extra would be next
I had a T-34 once that i dearly loved. Small 40 size that was built like a tank. I wish i could find the producer of that kit. I'd pay a small fortune to get another one.

What to you think the best plane (for sport flying) is. Sport being defined as FUN FUN FUN.
For me it would be the TH Fun 51. Builds fast and cheap, and the flying can't be beat. (By anything in its price range anyway)

I just responded on another similar thread that, as an ARF, the best I think I could come up with for my tastes would be a Sig Sundancer 50 with an OS FS70-II engine. Sport is for fun, and biplanes are fun. I'm working on a Phaeton 90 with a Zenoah G-26 (still, a sport plane), and once that is done I plan on stepping down to the smaller Phaeton II (with the added upper ailerons, too) as a "sportier" plane.
