OK fella's let me know what you think. I am in position to make available a short kit for a good flying sport model. It is named the Bounty Hunter. It is great fun fly type of airplane and not super aerobatic. The short kit would include plans, canopy and landing gear. No wood, unless there is enough interest it could be a full blown kit but that is not likely these days but possible. It has a 54" wingspan. The one pictured has an older O.S. .61 in it which is more than enough. A good .40 would fly it and a .75 will fit. Of course equivelent 4 stroke motors as well. The pictured plane has been flown quite a lot so it is a proven design. Price would have to be in the $65 range plus postage.
Edit:
Yes, before you say it. It does look a lot like a Contender.

It does look a lot like a Contender. I had one many moons ago and really loved it. I gotta ask a question though. And I don't mean this in bad way, just trying to understand. $65 for plans, landing gear and a canopy? It must also include some laser cut or routed parts, right? Am I missing something? It seems like a lot for just those items.

$65 is just an estimate. I would have to check the actual cost. The real unknown at this point is the cost of getting the plans copied.

The $65 being a close guess does not seem to bad to me for the plans, lg and canopy.
It would be nice if all plan's came with the option to buy the canopy,lg,cowl and wheel pants at the same time

Nice looking plane.

To me; it looks like a combination of a Kougar and Stick - both great AC!

As a Sport AC they cannot be beat and I'm sure that this Bounty Hunter will please the Sport fliers.

But I think that you are just reinventing the wheel here.

Good Luck and Happy Landings!

Really? Aren't most .40 size FULL kits (wood, hardware, plans etc) in that same area? A quick scan of Tower Hobbies showed several kits in the $60 to $90 range. Again, not trying to make waves, just making sure I understand.

I would have no issue with selling the plans seperately, certainly would save you money. The landing gear and canopy would be made with American labor.

For great flying it needs a .60 size motor. It would fly on a good .40 so I guess if you are going to compare it to a China made product please use a .60 size sport model. It is very difficult to compete with products coming out of China. That is why you have seen a lot of U.S. based companies closing over the past several years. If this all comes down to the money. At $65 a short kit, I am certainly not going to get rich off of it. My goal is to provide something different to the modelers. Not your everyday plane, something that is a proven flyer and very simple to build.

Reinventing the wheel..... I do not understand why you think that.

Pretty hard to compete with http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXHU90&P=7

$65 for plans, canopy and landing gear vs $80 for All Wood To Build The Kit, Full Size Rolled Plans, Photo Illustrated Instruction Manual w/Reference Plans, Clear Canopy, CA Hinges, Nylon Adjustable Engine Mount, Hardware Package, Decals.
