I just got a Sig 4 * 120 curious as to what engine would be the best for it? 2 stroke , 4stroke , gas?

I have a Saito 100 that runs good would that be enough power?

.90 to 1.20 two stroke or 1.20-1.60 four stroke. This is per Sig website. I've seen them flown with Saito 1.20 and 1.50. I don't believe your Saito 1.00 would be a good choice. Even if it will fly it I imagine it would take a lot of extra weight in the nose to balance it. Your Saito 1.00 would be better for the 60 size.

What size gas engine would work for the four star 120? Is that a good choice? I can buy one for about the same price as a good 4 stroke I think?

I've never seen one with a gas engine although I'm sure it's been done. I'd say something in a 26cc size. You would get a better response to the gas question in the gas engines forum. Sorry I'm not much help.

I built a 4*120 kit with a Ryobi 31cc engine. Several people have used the HomeLite 25cc engines and also the MVVS 26.

I'm not sure I'd put anything larger than a 25cc on the ARF. I haven't seen the construction, but experience tells me it's not a real beefy firewall.

I have one and had a 120 four stroke in it at one time. It flew and that was about it. Needs more than that to enjoy it. I think a 180 FS would work good.

Thanks guys. I believe I will go with a 26cc gas just for grins and giggles. Looking at a xyz or Zenoa for starters.

Any thoughts?

I have nothing as far as equipment for a Gasser. What will it take to be ready to fly as in tank,batt. etc.?

If this works out like I think it will I will probably go all gas except for the 40 series planes.

You need a red plastic one gallon gas can.

The Hobbico or H9 hand pumps will work with gas or glow by using the appropriate type fuel lines

You must use Tygon type fuel lines with gas

The gas engines have a fuel pump so the tank line usually connected to the muffler on a glow engine is just left open to the atmosphere on a gas engine

You may need a bigger starter

The magneto ignition engines need no battery to run.
