Default "New post" sign?

Hello there, greeting from Chile!

Maybe I'm missing something, but I liked the "new post" sign that showed wich replys where new when reading some looong, multipage posts. I hope it comes back!

Good luck on the new RCU!

Thank you... we'll be taking the time to evaluate what the members enjoyed on what was RCU and be bringing many of those things back to what is RCU as time allows. I've got Notepad open and have been jotting down the suggestions.

Add one more for the new post Icon, I was going to ask about that.

Realizing you were talking about the NEW POST on the left of the screen I completely forgot to tell you guys that this is currently available, just slightly different.

Look to the right of a message and you'll see a round icon next to (post no. _ ). Either it will be yellow (new post) or it will white (read post). It may take a little getting used to and I'm sure can be changed later, but cosmetic changes will be in the upcoming weeks as time allows.

sorry but I can't find post #, all I see is topic, forum, author , and date.

I'm must admit that I don't like the new format, but times change so more power to ya, just be careful not to change so quickly as to upset your customers(us forum users).

I'm confident that those that may will make the correct decisions for the future of this web service.

Also, how about the online/offline indicator. That was a really nice feature. I often login from different locations, so its nice to know if someone is online to respond to a post.

Boots,

I meant out on the main topic listing page. It used to show the number of replies and the number of views, as well as if I had read the most current posts or not. Also, you could click on the right arrow below the topic and be taken to the first un-read post. Now it takes you to the last post of the thread.

Yes, I'm not blind, but inside the thread the post numbers and wether or not I've read the post are of little value.

we will have icon overhaul after the core codebase is tweaked and remaining bug issues fixed. Remember it took me months to get old RCU to where it was. This is like a baby that we mold and shape over time based on user feedback.

Users wanted all kinds of stuff that is in here now and other stuff is coming.

Killer stuff is:

Select your own custom forums to view and see new posts from - click settings button and choose your forums. simple, fast and super easy. then click myforums and bingo.

4 pictures per post upload with NO file size limit - no more resizing photos.

Killer search engine - try our new forum search engine. It is like a ferrari compared to the worn out jalopy engine that RCU had. Search by phrase, filter inside MyForums, use booleans like AND/OR and more.

All the other stuff will be coming soon. Icons, quick reply box, search box on every page and every other goodie from the old site.

Steve,

Thanks for the correction,

I was a little misled by the wording, and the screen shot was an attempt to understand the question.
Flat style, Tree and Simplified Flat? been hearing those alot and they each have their own qualities I guess, Not implying you were blind, just did not know which style.

Anyway on the main forum page the new posts icon and the bold lettering and also there is a round yellow marker for new posts of the day, none seem to work like the older ones did. But I think they are working on those old features, some were nice.

But the older style also had the Yellow NEW POST on the left inside the thread on all the new replies/posts, that was a quick way to find where I left off.

Up to 4 pictures per post, and I don't have to resize them first?

You're kidding, right? Really? That's neat! What a time saver!

Wait- first I have to be like "hundreds" of others and moan and groan about how lousy the new RCU is and how if I don't get the old one back I'm gonna leave forever.

NOT!

Keep up the good work, guys.

I think this has been fixed. I'm not sure your question has been answered.

The "go to first new post" button now seems to work, and there was an announcement saying there was a bug in it.

The "new post" graphic that used to be on the left side, is now on the right. It's a little subtle (yellow means new post), but it does work.

While I'm on it, does anyone know, from a technical point of view, when does RCU decide you've started a new session in order to reset those flags?
