Default ST 2300 Pipe recommendations

Is there a recommended pipe (exhaust) system for the 2300 on a pattern airplane. Looking to meet the 92db rule.

We're sorry, but there is no specific recommendation for exhaust systems to get the maximum silencing. Most likely a tuned-pipe with an after-muffler will give you the most silencing.

Another way to greatly reduce the sound level is to turn the engine more slowly. Pattern fliers typically use propellers with very high pitches. We've seen 16 x 12 size props as well as 15 x 14. Even 16 x 14 size props. These props can lug the engine, so you don't want to get too much propeller. Keep the engine turning at 7,000 RPM at the lowest and you'll be OK, though.

I have run one in a pattern plane for awhile with info from Bob p's site. [link=http://www.rcaerobats.net/STEng/Supertigre.htm]bob'd ST info[/link]
I have used a macs header (wrap around) and a pipe from a 60 sized engine as a muffler. (macs quiet pipe.) ran it off of exhaust pressure,
and used a 16-10 APC at 8500 rpm and 17-10 at 8100 rpm very quiet. runs great and hauls a 2 meter great.
I currently have mine on a modified Goldburg ultimate and plan on 2 more ST 2300's for the next seasons 2 pattern planes.
Hope this helps.

Thanks HCRCflyer, that helps.

Did you use the long stroke 60 quiet pipe or the regular 60 quiet pipe?

10cc (.60-.75) 18½" 4.2 oz 79.95 1060
10cc (.60-.75) long-stroke 18½" 4.2 oz 83.95 1062

also, do you happen to know which header you used?
S.T. G 2300 4090 4091 4092 standard long or ex-long.

The info email address I had for Macs no longer works and I can't find a new one on there website http://www.macspro.com/ Guess I should just breakdown and call them directly.

Thanks agin for the info!
