Default "Sweet Spot"

I was wondering at what RPM the peak Horsepower is on the following engines..

G51 Ringed, GS45 ABC and the G-3250.

I am starting to play with diesel conversions and want to keep the engine in the "Sweet Spot".

Thank You

Ralph

All the available information is at:

http://www.supertigre.com/engines/index.html

Just click on the engine to see its specs.

Perhaps my wording wasn't quite right.
What is the power band of these engines?
What is the recommended RPM range?
I understand that luging a motor is bad for the bearings

Right now I'm turning a 13 x 8 ACP prop at 8800 rpm on the ground with the GS 45 engine and a Davis Diesel head.
I'm hopeing for close to 10,000 RPM in the air.

Thanks Again

Ralph

Is there a minimum in the RPM range?
Or maybe better put, at what RPM do these engines start to to "Come on to the pipe"
and where does the power start to fall off. We use to call this the power band when I road motorcycles.

I have heard that not running at a fast enough RPM was bad for the bearings.

An engine will "come on the pipe" when the pipe's properly-tuned for the RPM range the engine is running. You adjust the pipe to suit the engine.

The GS-45 and G-51 are usually propped to run in the mid-12,000's. We prop the G-3250 to run in the mid-8,000's. These cases are when the engine is leaned to just rich of peak RPM. Your RPM will vary, depending upon propeller and exhaust system used.
